I think we all know by now that Cooper Rush is a high-IQ quarterback who makes quick decisions but doesn't have great arm strength. The Commanders essentially challenged him to go deep and if they weren't so handsy with our receivers, it would have worked.

He completed one of the deep play-action passes (to Brown, two were interceptions erased by penalty and at least one other turned into pass interference. Those were all go routes.

Even though we scored 25 points with help from those penalties, I would think this would be considered the blueprint for beating Rush. Play the run and the short stuff and force Rush to try to go over the top. With better corner play, there's a good chance you'll be able to catch up before the ball gets to the receiver unless it's a throw like he made to Brown, which happened only once on those routes.

There were at least two dpi if I remember. He has limitations which weren't a secret. That's why he's a backup and wasn't drafted highly. He's a perfect qb#2.

I would have said we were crazy to think that at the start of 2021. I'm happy for him and us but too bad he'll be gone after this year.

Right. Washington just is the first team that really tried to use his limitations against us, stacking up against the run and trying to get us to go deep. Don't think we can rely on those DPI and illegal contact calls to get us out of that trouble every time. I would think the Rams would employ a similar plan, especially since they have better corners to play those go routes one-on-one.

All good things come to an end.
I am very glad Cooper has helped the team to 3 straight wins.
But does anyone still believe this will keep up going against the Rams and the Eagles.

It could, I hope it does. But don’t be shocked at some sacks and picks in the up coming games. So we need to hope the team is good enough to overcome any.

Good analysis, I suspect more teams try that approach, those were two ugly picks.

But if teams challenge them they need to keep taking those shots.

Washington got him throwing off his back foot a lot yesterday. Better teams/defenses will expose why he’s been a career backup. Yesterday was the weakest game he’s had so far this season but our defense and a couple of calls against Washington that negated 2 INTs bailed him out.

Not great arm strength but adequate. He's a great backup. On par with Brissett imo. Dak is the man.

Sounds familiar! That's exactly what teams have done to Dak when they shut him down.

Bottom line is that this was the FIRST game Rush played this year with his Oline didnt play well. The previous two they were giving him all day to throw and opening up big holes in the run game. There was nowhere to run, and he was pressured. Two picks got called back by penalty and he struggles most of the day.

But he did get the job done late with a couple nice throws and TD's. Most of the scores were set up by PI.

His arm strength is my own big concern about him. He doesn't have the arm strength to throw off his back foot, and with some push up the middle that is what he had to do on those two INTs that weren't INTs.

Most of us didn't expect the Cowboys to do this good when Dak went down. Anything else is cake.

I think all qbs struggle with inside pressure even the goat
His arm strength is a concern in general some of his passes are under thrown and receivers are making plays

that’s fine that’s what they are paid to do

The two picks he threw were ill advised passes from the get go. Especially the first one. That was a pressure pick.

The Rams are going to be very tough to beat. But they also need to worry about Stafford. He's not exactly mobile, and not the greatest under pressure. I'm more worried about the Eagles game. Their QB is highly mobile and they have a great run game. They don't need him to be Tom Brady, just make a few passes. I'm hoping Dak is back by Philly.
