This is the best defense that we have put together in at least 20 years it would seem. Fun to watch this defense finally.
I think we've had better defenses personnel wise....I think what sets this apart though is Dan Quinn as coach.

Good watch. Baldy loves him some Cowboys defense!

I know Fowler got the sack, but Lawrence caused it by just steamrolling the interior blockers. I agree that the defense reminds me a lot of all that speed we put out there in the early 1990s.

It'd be an even faster defense with Jabril Cox on the field.

But would it be as good? I'm OK with giving Cox, who barely got on the field last year, a little more time to learn. Barr will probably be gone next year, and possibly LVE. Next year might be Parsons, Clark and Cox.

Definitely at the DT spots. Quinn really mixes up his fronts to keep the fact that we have overall just average DTs from hurting us too much. They've played the run fairly well on the inside and given way to more able pass rushers when we create long-yardage situations.

Learn. Stop. Players don't need years to learn how to play in the league. Take a look around. Rookies play and play early.

This is not true for every player. Some take a while to acclimate to the league, to pick up nuances of the game, to find their niche. Romo wasn't ready when he first entered the league. Austin wasn't ready. Bradie James (a fourth-round pick like Cox) wasn't ready. Cox can learn on the job, but apparently, Quinn (or someone) doesn't believe that would be best for the team or they wouldn't have pursued Barr. I think the injury and recovering from it set him back some and they just wanted to see more before giving him a fairly big role in the defense.

Yep, those speedy DE's get up the field and leave huge holes for the RB's sometimes too. Just run to the weak side of our defense and you'll pick up six yards quite often. LVE isn't good at getting off blocks, without giving ground. And Diggs isn't too good at getting off blocks himself. Easy pickens right now in the run game. Hopefully Quinn is focusing on making our weaknesses our if we can strengths. Because, if we can stop the run on a regular basis, we be the best defense in the league.

Speed kills on both sides of the ball.
