As soon as Dak starts throwing this week, no one but Rush's parents will remember him.

Yes. Mick McGillicutty NY Jets 1974.

Never heard of him. Any contract information links and are there any others backup qbs extended in the Free Agency era after 3 games?

I actually have a different idea. Perhaps after the season, a trade might be in order. Teams need QBs. We have two of them, and we might be in the market to draft one as well. So, if I were Jerry, I might consider dangling Rush out there (and don't do what we did with Amari) and seeing who bites. I could see mid-tier drafting teams like the Vikings, Titans, Dolphins, Colts (always QB hungry), or Seattle wanting him. If we play our cards right, we can get several high picks, including possibly an extra first round pick or two with the commodity QBs are. Then, I'd try to trade up and take a QB to develop while Dak starts next season as the heir apparent until the next season. Then, I'd use the next pick to get a LG so that we can reinforce Tyler Smith at LT.

If I were Jones, if it's allowed. I would wrap up Cooper Rush now or the Cowboys are going to lose him in the offseason. Being he signed a contract for a 1 year deal in the offseason, it might not be allowed by league rules.
Why would Cooper Rush sign an extension to be a backup? He has shown the QB needy teams that he can start in this league. Rush will be looking for a starter's job next offseason.

I mentioned this a few weeks back but we have the opportunity to have the #1 pick in the 2023 draft.
You have to bite the bullet and trade Parsons for 2#1s(+)
You can draft your franchise QB
Have multiple high picks left over
to build super lines.
You cannot afford to pay Parsons anyway.
It hurts, but it's how you build a sustainable run.

You know he won't...He sticks with his guys until the wheels fall off. Rush is just another JAG to Jerry.

Wrong. We need to draft a new QB. Forget Rush. We could get a Herbert or a Mahomes.

Good luck finding a Herbert or Mahomes, though the refs bailed out Mahomes from two picks when getting outplayed as usual by Herbert..
