Honestly at this point I think it might be too late. But is there any reasonable amount of money we could offer him to keep him around after this season?

Honestly his agent is probably seeing $$$ so I think he’s probably goin into free agency at the end of the year no matter what.

But I really hope we can give this guy a multi year deal for a reasonable amount.

Not sure Rush is going to end up getting more than the one-year, low-ball offer he always gets. The team is on a nice run with him, but that could go south in a second. Not sure teams in need of a QB are going to see him as a hot commodity.

he's probably gone after this year. Right now, you can still say he's flash in the pan.

Yesterday he was picked twice, lady luck was being kind, she reconsidered.

He was picked once vs NYG, it was reconsidered

Glad though, he can stand on his feet and deliver.

I'm not sure NFL coaches, who actually watch game film, are as giddy about Cooper Rush as some Cowboys fans.

I swear if I see Tom Brady mentioned again...
Did I read Cooper is currently 4 in QBR? You cant make that stuff up. While I would absolutely need to see more than 3 games to have a better idea of how good he is, he has clearly shown he can play and make good decisions. That goes a long way in this league.

I dont play that pick game. EVERY QB in this league has picks that happen that isnt their fault, and picks that get erased from penalties. Rush has zero picks in 3 games. Thats it.

In a league of salary caps you have to be careful throwing around money . The Jets unwrapped Mike White last yr from witness protection he throws for 450 beats a Bengal team went to SB . If Rush finds fools gold in the hinterlands then the search for the Maltese Falcon continues .

No team is giving Rush starter money
Some might look at him as a backup but he will be back here for a bit more money next year
He was cut and no team looked at all

Rush is NOT going to be a hot commodity in free agency, contrary to what some delusional fans think. He’s done better than we ever imagined. Most fans were mad when he was signed to the practice squad, thinking we could do better. No team is going to offer him a starting gig….period. There may be teams that would like to have him as a backup, but he’s not looking at a huge contract that Jerry can’t fit under our cap.

The big question will be do you want to sign him to a contract that makes him your backup for 3-4 years, or do you continue looking for more talented QBs (arm and mobility) to develop. If the front office still thinks Dak is the long term answer, you sign Rush. If you are concerned that Dak may need to be replaced in 2-3 years or whatever is possible, then you draft a QB with a high ceiling and start developing him. You are never going to plan on Cooper as your franchise QB.

That ship has sailed.
In this QB starved league some desperate team will throw big bucks at him.

I could see him signing s decent contract for a team that needed a steady hand to play while help development of some youngster with big upside.
Rush is apparently a student of the game and has great insight.
I think he would do well in a situation like that

I can definitely see him signing a long term deal as QB2 for the Cowboys.

NFL teams love physical attributes - Rush’s are subpar.

Most of his success seems to be his familiarity with the Cowboys. A long term deal makes the most sense for both parties IMO. I don’t see a team like Carolina believing Rush is the answer.

If a team is desperate, and we get an offer we can't refuse, he is gone. Otherwise, I think yes, there is a great chance he stays. A team like Seattle might take a stab at it talkin trade. They have a ton of draft capital...and they need a starter still. Geno isnt the long term answer.
