How did Cooper Rush fall through the cracks?

I mean he's been in the league since 2017. He went undrafted. Has been cut several times. Cut this year and cleared waivers. Yet, here he is at almost 29 years old balling out with the Cowboys. To the point that people are suggesting he become the starter. I mean, this doesn't even happen unless you are Kurt Warner. I am by no means suggesting that he is good as Kurt but he's playing at a decently high level. How did this happen?
I think he grew into it over the years, by working hard, studying, and never giving up.
He finally got his shot, and was ready for it.

It took romo 2-3 years to be ready to play, took brady his rookie year, even rodgers rode the bench for years before he had to start.
The key is to keep working and learning and be ready when the time comes.

And you may need to loosen your grip on all your preconceived notions and start to believe what your eyes tell you Even though it doesn't fit your narrative.
Rush is good enough to win games in the NFL although he may not be as athletically gifted as many starting quarterbacks he processes information reads defenses and plays within his boundaries better than many quarterbacks.

Rush is a smart confident player who knows how to operate within his limitations and obviously possesses the leadership to get his team to play for him.

He is more than a backup on our team he has been our starting quarterback for the last three games and is saving our season.

He may have to continue as our starter as we have absolutely no idea how Dak is going to be able to throw the ball after he is cleared to play.
He’s a solid backup. Nothing more, nothing less. I agree with the coaches.

I see a Matt Cassel type of career. Career backup for NE, finally after an injury to Brady he becomes the starter and plays well. Signs a huge contract with KC and blah. Lightning in a bottle, which turns into a firefly. Time will tell.

Because he sucks?

Ok... "sucks" is a little strong but he's not very good? The defense is playing well, the coaches are sticking to the run game and it's working to set up play action and simple reads. Combine that with facing some poor opponents and he's 3-0.
It's fans/people like this that get Nick Foles or Derek Anderson paid.

Rush is a good backup but that is all he is. He isn't Kurt Warner and if some team promotes him to starter they are going to learn real quick why he is a backup.

As long as he keeps putting up the “W” stat, Rush can keep on starting imo.

Well first off, hasnt been balling out. He is basically driving the bus against weak competition.

2nd of all he has largely looked awful in preseason.

And then its only been the dumbest part of our fan base that has suggested he become the starter.

Its cliche but he is playing within himself. He knows his limits and does not put himself in position to test those. He COULD start but he is not a superstar waiting to break out. He is an NFL level QB nothing wrong with that. Right now team DC do not see anything to be scared of in his game so they are really trying to shutdown the run which actually helps him.

The Cowboys have allowed 43 points during his current three-game winning streak.

I've seen Dak and Romo lose GAMES where the opponent scored more than 43, and fans blamed them for the loss.

Rush is doing his job and the defense has his back. Let's stop mentioning Kurt Warner and Tom Brady in relation to him.

Who you want? Aaron Rodgers? Drew Brees? Roger Staubach? Amateurs in comparison to Rush!
