Diggs led the league in interceptions last year but he also led the league in passing yards allowed. While that led some to make scorching hot takes about whether or not Diggs was actually good, it was still an area that Diggs needed to clean up.

Diggs has done just that. Four games in and Diggs’ is 47th in the league in yards surrendered despite being tied for 13th most targets. Diggs is allowing a 54.8 passer rating when targeted, 10th best among qualifying cornerbacks this year. Only four defenders have more interceptions than Diggs and he leads the league in passes defensed.

Overall Diggs’ game is much more disciplined than it was last year, and that’s been a microcosm of this entire Cowboys team.

He has taken his game up another notch!
I like this season's version of him much better.
Not as many INTs, but much better overall pass coverage.

You realize that stat is garbage, the stat is most yards given up when he was the closest defender. So does not take other things into account like blown assignments. Example if he is covering Receiver A but Brown loses his man and Receiver B catches it closer to Diggs than Brown, Diggs gets credited for the yardage. All these sites and sports pages are making stats up to "one up" the next site. That being said there were times last year where he was just hunting for INTs instead of playing his assignment but it was not nearly as bad as it is made out to be.

ill stand by the fact that if he gave up as many yards as the media says he did he'd be unemployed. No corner gives up 1000+ by themselves and on last sundays broadcast they said hes given up over 1600 yards as the closest defender which is laughable

He's been burnt before and hes given up yards but he's also a darn good corner and has shut down who hed feced this year

100% ...excellent post
I think some assume all his yardish issues from the last can from man coverage.

people who dont know football and want to crap on Dallas always assume that...if Diggs gave up 1k + in man coverage i'd throw my tv out the window in anger....thats alot of yards for one corner to give up by himself

Most important thing - he is a freaking playmaker.

To hell with all the stats, good or bad, dude has proven he makes the big play when needed several games this year already. Including the tackle.

At least they are using the same measurement for everyone which makes it fair in that respect.

I’ve often wondered since he was a receiver in college if we might should use him on offense occasionally like we did Deion.

Maybe in a deep playoff run I might. But Im not exposing this guy anymore than I need to to an injury.

You have to be a complete bozo to not see this trajectory coming. The guy has been a cornerback for like 3 years his entire life. Y’all thought he was going to walk into the second hardest position in the nfl and be a lockdown corner that he league almost never sees? Yeah, sure. Of course he’s improving. He’s a damn good player. He always has been. And yes; he’s not getting beat deep once every game like he was last season. That’s the only difference. Diggs was never getting abused left right and center last year. It was one deep shot every game and y’all acted like he was the worst cb the league has ever seen. Truly dumb.

He has been a top CB in the league so far this year following up on a league leading INT season.
Ramsey is still living off of reputation, Diggs is getting it done on the field.

He's taken a step forward this year already, looking like a top, top CB in the league.

A big 2 games coming up for him to cement his place at the top of the list with Kupp, Brown and Smith on the radar.

it's so good watching us with playmakers on D. Parsons and Diggs simply make us better across the board, not just at 2 positions.

I don't see any criteria that could say Diggs played at anything other than an All Pro level last week. One of his best games for sure

First I will say I have no problem with Diggs at all.

However, the improved performance has much more to do with pass rush and pressure I bet than any huge change in his game. He is a ball hawk and he watches the QB a lot. This is going to lead to bigger plays allowed sometimes and also to interceptions!

I'm not saying Diggs hasn't improved, but I always thought that yards given up last year stat was garbage. I don't think its a coincidence the explosive plays through the air have come to a halt with Malik Hooker playing centerfield instead of that knucklehead Kazee.
