Is Green Bay a trap game?

An away game, against a Nemesis, in cold weather against a team that doesn't look good. will the cowboys focus? Or will they look ahead to the Minny show down? This is the NFL. There are no easy opponents.

The coaches have to make sure this team stays focused on GB.

The Cowboys head coach was fired by the Packers and trashed by the QB who is still there. They're not looking ahead to anyone.

No and here is why...my definition of a trap game would be for a team to be heavily favored (-4 currently), coming off of a win against an opponent who is considered our arch enemy (we are coming off a bye week) and playing with nothing to lose. (we are 2 games behind Shegals). End of story.

This the kind of game that the Cowboys would come out flat after a bye week, over confident against a wounded team, and make it a last minute win or loss. Need to come out fast, get in front and let the defense go lights out against Rodgers. Keep their boot on their necks. We shall see.

Cowboys have lost the last 3 games to the Packers, and 8 of 9 overall over the last 13 seasons (since 2009).
That includes two playoff games, of which a number of current Cowboys participated in the last one, and a a couple in both (Tyron Smith, Zack Martin).
So no - this is not a "trap" game.

Apparently "trap game" means a game Dallas might lose. Under that definition, they are all trap games.

I thought "trap game" meant a game that the team was assured they would win and not take seriously and this MOST DEFINITELY is not that.

This!

Trap games are games against crap teams you don't take seriously. I can't see any team in the NFL that doesn't take the Packers and Aaron Rodgers seriously. I don't care what their record is, everyone takes them seriously.

Yes.

Packers are on a 5 game skid.

BUT they're 2-2 at home versus 1-4 on the road.

Packers haven't played at home in a month since their Week 6 loss to NYJets. They'll be glad to be playing in front of their home crowd.

It's Dallas... that crowd will be in full throat.

It's also going to be cold, about 35F at kickoff... coldest game for Dallas this season thus far

FYI: rest of the year for Dallas will be sort of comfortable: @MIN, NYG, IND, @JAX, PHI, @TEN, @WAS. maybe 2 "cold" weather games after Green Bay.

I see the obligatory trap game thread is up. It's official, Dallas will play a football game this week.
