How about we see what he's asking first. 8 million a year sounds about right, to me.
That's definitely affordable for him long term to be our Aaron Jones basically. Dual threat change of pace back, not necessarily the starter but also not the bell cow who's as likely to get injured plowing through OLs and DLs twenty times a game.

The Zeke/AJ Dillon role is more replaceable. Keep drafting bigger backs who can block and pick up the blitz. Those guys you can draft and replace. The guys like Kamara, McCaffrey and Pollard are rare. But Atlanta and Carolina overused the former two and got them chronically injured; I hope we don't do the same with Pollard after we re-sign him.

Schultz signed the tag for 10 million for one year ..... now who/which is the more important impact player ?
Schultz can pound sand in the offseason honestly. He's a below average blocker and he doesn't make the difficult red zone catches like we saw today. He's only good for catching if he's wiiiiiiiiiiiide open.

I've already been thinking about a replacement for Zeke, if it happens. SaRodorick Thompson from Texas Tech. 6'0" 220 pounds.

Can't let him go yet with this kind of play.
He should be extended as soon as possible . After the season will be expensive, franchising will work one season but he may not go full steam

If he keeps playing the way he is right now, there will be a team that exceeds what we offer (unless we plan on giving out another Zeke contract)

If that is the case, you let him walk. Good player but he's just an RB, you can replace him.

Can’t see the team paying Pollard 12 million for one season.

Hindsight is 20/20 but why didn't the Cowboys franchise Demarco Murray in 15?

Because the Cowboys viewed Murray as just a serviceable work horse back, and a one year wonder ... nuthing superficial about him.

Why didn't Murray have even close to the 1800 workhorse season he had his last season in Dallas ..elsewhere in the NFL ? (Philly, Tenn)
