He wants an Amari Cooper deal.
Wants does not mean gets.

There appear to only be 3 teams interested in signing him. I don't see him getting a big guaranteed contract. Maybe 20M non-guaranteed for 2023 and 17M prorated for 2022 which would be 1M per game played.

thats what the medical staff and team will need to evaluate during his visit

this should not be a “for next year” move. This should be for now or not make it
Absolutely. I don’t think anybody thinks otherwise. Including Jerry & co. But just because he’s healthy doesn’t mean he will contribute. Look at Gallup, he’s been healthy all year. Now that doesn’t mean obj can’t contribute , but nobody knows. The medical won’t be enough.

Nobody knows the answer to this question. You can only speculate.

It's a pretty good bet that a player is not going to get on the field in mid December after a year rehab of another ACL tear and play anywhere near 100%. Then add in a new offense, new QB and the chances are so remote that they aren't worth considering.

I'm hoping they'll allow Jerry to do an exploratory scope of the knee.

Imagine that scene. Stephen's nose whistle in between heart monitor beeps.

With a freshly poured JWB on the tray, next to the scalpel.
Ya know, just to keep the hands steady... lol.

OBJ is all hype right now. He would likely sign with someone this year and not make it out of the Trainer's room.

If he can’t help this year in a significant way then you don’t sign him

Period

Cowboys and teams interested are in it for the long run, ..not just one year rental ..
That's apparently the clear picture.
Ditto with OBJ.

What i wonder and concerned with is .. should there be option outs, escape clauses and incentives in his contract ?
We've placed such clauses in past high dollar contracts, should we do the same with Beckham ?

I’ve heard he is seeking a deal like Gallup’s

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/dallas-cowboys/michael-gallup-25180/

What i am hearing is it (per Jane Slater) is it may be more about the guaranteed signing bonus than per year dollars.

OJB is 30 years old so he's not gonna have a long term deal like Gallup.(who BTW has an opt out in 2024)

IMO, It's gonna likely depend on the next 3 years. By 34-35 years of age He's gonna already be in decline and be outta the league when he hits that age.
and mind you, he's already not the most durable guy as it is now.

One year cap friendly contract to prove you still have it after those injuries… come on board! I know that’s what he was trying last year, but it is what it is, you got hurt again. Don’t expect teams to pony up. Prove yourself on the contending team you pick and bank next year. Trying to get a cap killing contract right now only makes me think he knows it may be over.

forget it , i very highly doubt he's gonna do that. (one year rental)

and especially when he has other high rolling bidders that are willing to take a chance that
he's not only recovered but willing to gamble that he will anywhere near to his former lighting quick self.

All the hype and hoopla suggests OBJ is leading the high school recruit parade ..and he's the prep recruitee

He'll be ready for the Pro Bowl flag football game, or whatever it is they are doing now.

What will OBJ's Cowboy's Jersey # be??
Been wondering the same thing. All of our single digits and 80’s are taken or reserved and the only 16 is available in the teens. If practice squad guys don’t have permanent numbers he can choose between Brandon Smith’s 80 or Dennis Houston’s 17. Nothing pretty though.
