Say he gets 5-7 INT this year. Do we extend next year, franchise tag, let him play it out and try and sign in offseason?

If we do extend, what is going to be his price?

Jaire Alexander is making 21M a year
Jalen Ramsey is making 20M a year
Marshon Lattimore is making 19.5M a year
Byron Jones is making 16M a year
Marcus Peters is making 14M a year

Where does Diggs fit in. Do we have to offer him 20-22M a year to lock him in for 4-6 years, or can we get him signed to a long term deal at 17 or so million a year for long term? Should we even try or see how next season plays out and franchise tag him for around 18.5M and definitely be on the hook for the 20M range after that tag.

you have to pay him whatever an elite CB is worth or someone else will

I completely agree. Pay him or watch him become a possible HOF for another team.

So, saying that. (and I DO NOT want the Cowboys to do this.) What is his trade value next year? I only ask because 22-25M a year is such a high price for a DB no matter who he is and what he does on the field.

He wont be tradeable next year, because is going to extend him in the offseason

Will be the highest paid corner in the league until it's time for the next elite corner to get an extension.

This organization has a history of players performing at elite levels in the regular season but yet we can't seem to win any playoff games.

Always seem to get punched in the mouth in the playoffs. But diggs can't control what happens in the trenches.

I say keep him and pay him what HE think he is worth. He may not want to reset the market and might be comfortable playing at an affordable price. This is the bad part of our FO. They tend to like to cave in to these demands, like Zeke, Tank and Jaylon Smith. Jerry's propensity to make a big splash in signing contracts is the issue here. His ego just can't stop getting in the way in making it reasonable for good players to stick around.

Before reading the 1st line my answer is YES you sign the best CB you've had since the 90s

So between Diggs and Parsons we would be looking at $40-50m per year combined. That’s a lot of cash!

He is going to want top money. That's where negotiations start.
