Your quotation stagnation is clearly a glitch in the Matrix. I'm Team Goodell. Therefore, your letter writing campaign and signature collection efforts against him are in vain. But if you really want to know what's going on behind the curtain, you'll have to pay a gold shilling to the leprechaun at end of the muddy dock at low tide. Only then might the anti-Cowboys Refs/Mara/Snyder/Goodell conspiracy be lifted to resume picking on the crappy Lions.

You absolutely will not tell me who your favorite NFL team is, will you? Why are you so afraid?

I just told you and yet you remain committed to clinging to your Scooby-Doo theories when the truth is all around you. Come out of the fog, Falcon. The Beagle has landed.

By the way, did McGovern hold on that play in Green Bay? Just taking notes.

Well for one thing a lot of NFL fans on twitter have noticed the Eagles O Line is false starting a lot. Them not getting called for penalties isn't always because of the Eagles OLine not committing them, but because the Refs just choose to let them slide with similar things the Cowboys OLine often gets flagged for.
Yup I was on Twitter last night and people were losing it. Eagles offense line gets away with a lot. Still the best in the game but holy hell

Lets see.....50 running plays X 5 offensive linemen. Thats 250 perfectly executed blocks without a single hook, arm bar or hand placement beyond the rule. Or ...a group of officials who let the guys play football. I have no beef with that. Its just that we get the pickiest, ticky tack set of refs every week. You CANNOT tell me that we aren't executing, but somehow the Eagles can throw a no-hitter literally every week. There's definitely a different approach to calling a game when we are playing.

So true....

what bothers me the most is pre-snap penalties. penalties during the play happen, although some of those are avoidable. but pre-snap penalties just kill you.
Agreed. Lots of false starts, illegal formations, and delay of game calls the last couple of years. And usually at the most inopportune time. Killers and drive stoppers.

Holding penalties are usually the result of being overmatched and out of position.

It is odd to me that Dallas has by far the best pass rush in the NFL but somehow never gets held.

And I don't think there were any on the offense. This is a huge difference between us and them. They don't have to overcome any penalties once they have the ball. We have 8-12 every game we have to overcome. This will be our downfall in the playoffs. Wait and see....

Been that way since I can remember. Romo had to deal with more 1st and 20 or 3rd and 15s than any one man should ever have had to. It took away so much in the way of potential achievements for the team.

No more with you Marcus. I'm enjoying my time on this site. I don't need the grief .

If you really don't want any grief I suggest you avoid saying anything negative about Dak - ever. Even if it's warranted.

I've compared each team's penalties during home games to their penalties at away games to see if any teams might have a "penalty home advantage". I used all the games over the past five seasons.

There are 5 teams that receives a comparable decrease during home games but it isn't the Eagles. They are ranked in the middle right next to the Cowboys.

The decreases I mentioned are not shocking. Seattle averages 1.7 less penalties a game when they are at home. Green Bay and Chicago average 1.25, New England averages 1.15 and Tampa Bay averages .975. These differences are too small to indicate any type of deliberate manipulation.

When ranking teams according to the number of penalties over that 5 year period, there is only a difference of 1.46 penalties per game between the 1st and last place teams. There is nothing odd or extreme about the number of penalties that teams receive. I would attribute the differences to a number of factors but I think the most common would be coaching techniques. Some coaches are willing to test the boundaries of rules more than others.

I think its not only important to count total penalties, but types of penalties also. DBs who always get flagged for illegal contact aren't as aggressive or confident as those given more leeway. Same goes for Olines. Teams are much more effective and aggressive when they play without fear of a phantom holding call.
