Would loss to Eagles ruin teams chances?

If the Cowboys can't beat the Eagles at Home then that would cement my thinking this team is going nowhere in the Playoffs. An Eagles win will likely show they are the class of the Division if not the Conference. And given how good SF has looked lately, it seems that any game against them in the Playoffs would be a repeat of last years game where they dominated/beat up the Cowboys.
There are examples of teams getting hot at the right time (going into the playoffs), so no, a loss wouldn't doom us. It would damper the mood a bit though.

Dallas will not lose to the Eagles.

Sorry, my friend. The Cowboys will not beat the eagles, they are just to damn fast and the Cowboys can't stop you from rushing for 150. I hate myself for thinking this way, but, no...not this year, not this team.

Teams have lost twice to a division opponent and still ended up winning the Super.Bowl.

2007 Giants lost twice to Cowboys but won the SB.

There will be 3 wildcard teams from the NFC and the Cowboys are in the lead for that.
Cowboys 8-3
NYG 7-4
49ers 7-4

To win the division:
Cowboys must beat the Eagles and win 2 more games than the Eagles of the remaining 6.

OR

Cowboys lose to Eagles but win 3 more games than the Eagles of the remaining 6.

Assuming NYG does pull off a miracle.

mine good thing about the eagles being great is that it’s going to force the FO to address the run defense issue. If you can’t stop the run in the nfc east you have no shot. Now maybe they will spend some capital on a DT.

I disagree. We beat them last game if we have Dak. We just couldn’t score enough with rush. 3 picks.

That was back then. They have made some good improvements on their team, plus they are more consistent with their play whereas the Cowboys are up and down in games. I hope the hell they do beat the krap out of them, but I would not put any money on it. And the Cowboys cannot stop the run and that what Hurts will do to hurt them.

Improvements? Who?

up and down? Cowboys have lost 1 game since and so have the eagles. If anything the eagles are playing worse.

basically hurts barely has to throw the ball. He basically hands the ball off or runs it.

Actually, the last 2 games the Cowboys have held the Vikings with Dalvin Cook, and the Giants with Saquan Barkley, to under 100 yards rushing.

Then there is the fact the Eagles run defense isn't much better than the Cowboys, and stopping Pollard/Zeke is a bit of a chore on Philly.

Also, the Cowboys outgained Philly the last time they met, and that was with the game in Philly and with Cooper Rush at QB. Rush threw 3 INT's that game.

Granted it's important for the Cowboys to control the Eagles running, but there really is nothing that suggests the Cowboys can't win, or even that they don't have a good chance to win.

Well, I don't follow them to know exactly what they did but it seems to me that they improved the their roster but I could be wrong, hell I don't know. It just seems to me watching them play they are fast, faster than the Boyz IMO. But you keep convincing me because I just cannot convince myself...I hope you are right, big dog.

The Cowboys don't do well as underdogs in the playoffs.

Cowboys would have an uphill battle in the post season for sure.

Counterpoint, we have a better team than we had then as well.

That was a pretty darn good team the Cowboys had in 2009. That team went up to New Orleans and beat the 13-0 Saints that went on to win the Super Bowl. The Cowboys finished out that season with back to back shut outs. That Cowboys team was playing as good as any Cowboys team I can remember heading into the playoffs. I thought that team had a great shot to go to the Super Bowl, but they fell apart against Minnesota in the second round. This years Cowboys team is good, but there’s some chinks in the armor. I’m far from sold on this team. This team is so undisciplined with all the penalties and seems to enjoy getting off to slow starts.

I'm certainly not guaranteeing anything. Just saying there is a lot to indicate the Cowboys have a reasonable chance to win. The Eagles obviously do to.

Of course, the outlook could be different in a week. Like you said, they need to take care of the Colts.

Do you think the eagles will lose anymore games before the Boyz play them?

People need to stop pretending that every game defines the season. As long as the Cowboys get into the playoffs the regular season doesn't mean much of anything other than establishing seeding.

After the Green Bay game is was basically established that we couldnt win another game all year. Now we are talked about as potential front runners again. We could be 1-1 against Philly this year, or we could be 0-2. If we meet them again in the playoffs it really doesnt matter aside from potentially who hosts the game. It's a new season and in the NFL anything can happen.
This!

Probably not, although the Titans & Giants could put up a fight.

The reality is the Cowboys are the toughest game remaining on the Eagles schedule, and the Eagles are the toughest remaining game on the Cowboys schedule. That game represents the highest odds of a loss for both teams.

Oh, I'm not disputing that we had an excellent team then. However, I do think we have a better defence. Our run game, imo, is better. I like the resiliency and tenacity of this team. It will be interesting to be sure, but I do think this is a slightly better team.

Well it would sure put a nail in the coffin of winning the division.

Beyond that there's a lot of football to play and injuries happen things change could be a different scenario by the time the playoffs start.

We need to just concentrate on beating the colts and taking one game at a time
