Is it wrong for me to hope games are close?

For two years I have fought an ongoing battle within myself gentlemen.. Don't get me wrong, I want the Cowboys to go 16-0, get a 6th Ring, and return to the pinnacle of the NFL. But at the sametime, there's something inside me that "wants" Cowboy games to be close, exciting, edge on your seat action. Like the 2005 season.. But that's not what a fan does, a fan cheers on the team 110%, hoping for a blowout every game.

I've come down with a mild case of adrenalitis I suppose.. Part of me wants the Fins' to put up a good fight today. My question- is it wrong for me to have these thoughts? Does this make me a bad fan? Does anyone else share my feelings?

Thanks in advance,
Lost and confused

As you get older - you'll appreciate a less stressful blow-out more and more.

I agree with Sarge.............I don't need the close nail biters. I much rather enjoy a dominence on both sides of the ball by the Boys. Again, I'm hoping they avg. more than 35 a game.

I have no problem with outright dominant, beatdown, blowout games where the opposing team is just wondering "what they heck just happened"?

I enjoy those games just as much(if not more than close wins)... :eekmouse::chop:

I enjoy watching the Boys put a beat down on teams. I have enough stress in my life. :)

I don't know.

Is it wrong for me to want to see more wins like last week - with Garrett shining and that fraud Phillips exposed?

Doesn't it feel like we always have close games? And when we lead by 13 points Brunell throws 2 touchdowns in the 4th quarter and we lose. I would rather have a blowout vs a close game anyday. Its just too much stress to have the entire game hanging on a fieldgoal. 50-10 over 13-16 any day.

If you have suffered through the close losses (e.g., "The Catch," the Santana Moss TDs, and so on), but still want close games, I think it means that the close losses aren't especially painful to you.

Which either means that you aren't a good fan -or- that you are more mentally well balanced than most good fans.

after the heart trauma I went through during the 2005 season and the playoffs last season, I don't want the spread to be anything under 100 points per game.

thank you that is all.

I lose about 3 years off my life after every game.

I don't want close games. I want a dominating team. In our glory days, we didn't have many close games and I loved it. I love to see us as a dominant team.

Close games are fun every now and then......but I would rather see us with an easy win....Like last year's game vs the Titans.

However exciting it may be, I do not like when we let teams hang around.

I don't want close games as in addition to the stress, I end up breaking my remote if our play irritates me.

I did end up breaking my remote last week after Romo threw the pick and the Giants subsequent score. I'll actively tally my broken remote count throughout the season.

Amen Sarge. I remember watching the Spurs win there championship last year, thinking, I am just too damn old for this. Oh it was nerve wracking and very trying. The victory made it worth it but I am not sure I can make it through another nail biting playoff run like that. I prefer blow outs and comfy smooth sailing in my games lately.

I don't know if I've enjoyed any game more in the past couple of years than that blowout we handed Philly in Dallas back a few years ago.

I much prefer a blowout by Cowboys. It is very satifying and also sends the messages to their upcoming opponents.

Is it wrong for me to hope games are close?

Is it wrong for me to hang around a gymnasium?

Is it wrong for me to like gladiator movies?

Hellya! What could you be thinking?!?!?

Close games are fun when You win but any real Cowboys fan should want a blow out every week..I mean nobody wants to stress.

Not calling the thread starter out or nothing, I'm just saying:starspin
