Emmitt still cannot match plural nouns with the correct verbs.

Example "Belichek is giving his players information that no one else have."

I think all ES needs is some third person singular drills. And mroe chances to shine discussing runners and the run game.

Key is really letting me down with his defense of Mumbles. I know ESPN 'scripts' the dialogue somewhat, trying to present both sides of an issue.

But the way I read KJ's head-up-Belicheat's-butt today and Friday night on ESPN radio is a desperate attempt to stay in the cheater's good graces. NE, after all, was to my knowledge the only team expressed recent interest in signing Key. They sure don't need any receivers right now, but KJ has made enough overtures the last few weeks to sound like he may want to get back in the game in the 'right' circumstances.

IMO, Steve Young and M. Irvin were far superior to Key and Emmitt.

Oh man... you said it....

There is an "S" in Smith so why doesnt he use them when he speaks.

"when he run"

"the guy know what it mean"

Ouch!

I think the grammer is fixable, I am somewhat impressed with Emmitt's overall analysis.

Key WITH Irvin would be a good match. Irvin would bring out Key's fire that made him seem like a good choice initially.

Emmitt...I just don't know what to think about him. Kinda inconsistent. He knows what he's talking about, but his delivery is suspect.

Not a fan of S. Young, but he was a good fit for this crew.

I love Emmitt, but you are absolutely correct......it pains me to listen to him trying to convey a thought from his mind and to his vocal cords. Somewhere between the brain and his mouth, the thought gets tackled and comes limping off the field ......I don't know who is worse, Keyshawn or Emmitt.

These are probably the worst analysts BSPN has had---Keyshawn, Ditka are not much better......serves them right for firing Irvin. I do see Keyshawn and Emmitt outtahere!

EMMITT ISN'T GETTING ANY BETTER

We've previously commented on the poor performance of ESPN's Emmitt Smith. And he's given constantly us more ammo.

In discussing Sunday's Bucs-Saints game, host Chris Berman threw it to Emmitt for something he'll be watching. And Emmitt said, "I'm gonna keep my eye on Joey Galloway and watch him go up against . . . um, uh . . . David . . . um . . . David . . ."

Berman bailed Emmitt out by giving him the right name (Jason David), and then made a flimsy excuse for Emmitt's latest screw-up.

But there is no excuse. How can Emmitt not know the name of the guy who was the talk of the league after the September 6 regular-season opener?

Besides, why is Emmitt going to watch . . . um, uh . . . David . . . um . . . David . . . when the Saints also have Mike McKenzie, who might be assigned exclusively to Galloway given the manner in which . . . um, uh . . . David . . . um . . . David . . . got torched last week?

Emmitt also continues to struggle with verb conjugations and other basic aspects of the English language. It's simply not acceptable for a guy who is now talking for a living. If he ran the ball the way he communicates, he never would have gotten off of the bench in high school. Heck, he might not have even made the team.

I guess they didn't interview him or research his speech pattern before hiring him.

You know... at the end of the day... what Emmitt is doing IS what made/makes him great. He has a challenge and his taking it on.

Grammar is fixable and you know he must be practicing.. but he seems nervous. Unless he can relax he will struggle. With that said... lets see...

Emmitt = give up.... come on

Makes one wonder what the hiring process is at ESPN. Keyshawn and Emmitt are deplorable as announcers. I literally switched to FOX because I couldn't stand it.

If Key and Emmitt aren't destroying the english language, they are talking over one another so you can't hear what they're saying at any rate. Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy.

Key has been very good when paired with Parcells. Emmitt has his moments when he is asked to elucidate about football, as opposed to personalities.

I think the problem with the two is the pairing. KJ with Bill or Ditka is amusing and informative. ES, imho, would benefit from a Jaws/Aikman/Young partnership.

I'll just point out that Emmitt Smith is a college graduate. Sure, it took him a few extra years, but he got through. And yes, the University of Florida has a library that would almost make a good AAAA school proud, but I do place some worth in the persistence that got him through school.

But someone is going to have to set the goal -- improved grammar -- and tell him to improve.

Might as well be us ;)

:laugh2:

David.

I switched for good after the David stammering thing. You can read PFT's Emmit's blurb and think "Whoa that was bad" But when listening to it live, it was brutal...and sad.

To be fair to Emmitt, this guy grew up talking this way from the time he was a small child, and if you've been speaking a certain way all of your life, it takes some time change things, just as a person who's been eating chips and candy, it's hard to change your eating habbits when you've been doing it so long.

But he may not have time to change..
