With the preseason upon us, I can barely stand to watch a Dallas preseason game all the way through. (Especially if I know that we lost beforehand)

But to be honest, I'm a one sport guy and can only watch one team, the Cowboys.

I'm curious, how many of you are the same way? Watching the Dallas Cowboys is the only sporting event I really care about.

I watched Michael Jordan with real interest when he was in his prime, but watching baseball, golf, NASCAR, or soccer is nothing but torture.

Basketball generates some interest, because an interesting dunk or no look pass is impressive, but too many points are scored, and if you play another team for almost 2 hours, and win by a margin of less than one percent of points scored almost every time, it really doesn't seem like a legitimate determination of which team was better that game.

All that said, is there any sport you watch that even comes close to Dallas Cowboys football?

For me, there's no comparison. I'm a one-sport, one team kind of guy. :starspinGo Cowboys!! :starspin

I support a few strongly favorite teams, usually Dallas-area teams: the Cowboys, Rangers, Mavericks and Stars. I also support the San Antonio Spurs. Of these, the Cowboys get by far my most attention.

That being said, I will frequently root for other teams (temporarily) as circumstances dictate. For example, I rooted for Carolina against New England in the Super Bowl, as I rooted for Seattle against Pittsburgh and Arizona against Pittsburgh also.

I also root strongly against the following teams: the Lakers, Yankees, Celtics, Angels, Giants, Eagles, Commanders, Steelers, Patriots, Penguins, Red Wings, 49ers, etc.

Having grown up overseas, I also follow international sports, so I root for the teams of Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, and Team USA in the Olympics, World Cup and other events.

Hey, you got a PM from me on this site about a very important matter -- well, important to you. Anyway, I'd like your response on it, my man.

Of course i love watching the Cowboys the most, but i really enjoy the NFC East games. Nothing grabs my attention more than watching the Giants, Skins and Eagles lose. I love to see them lose along with a Cowboy win. But i am an NFL junkie, i enjoy all the games. Not into college ball or any other sports. Just don’t have room to add another obsession.

Pretty much a one sport one team kinda guy. I will watch the NBA playoffs if Boston is in the thick of things but Football is the only sport I really care about.

Strickly a one sport guy also. Then offseason will find NBA playoffs, NCAA hoops, WWE and some NASCAR on my TV just to pass the time.

In addition to the Cowboys I watch Michigan Wolverines football religiously. I don't really get into any other sport though.

Football wise I would watch only the Cowboys and NCAA football. Now I watch the Cowboys, NCAA Football, and other NFL games that have my fantasy players playing.

As for other sports; MMA, Boxing, NCAA March Madness, NBA finals, and maybe a few games of the World series.

I can watch almost any NFL game. I will find some story or player or team that i want to watch. Of course thats usually only true after the season starts to develop. Games become more (or less) interesting after teams start to show in standings. I can watch any game that has a team i hate involved. Like the eagles or giants. And of course the primetime games seem to have something about them that make them worth watching. (regular season of course).

Now other than football my favorite sport has become MMA. I cant get enough of it. I think its about story lines. Knowing something about fighters that allow you to route for or against them.

Baseball is boring unless i am playing it. I will watch playoffs and world series. But 160 games of regular baseball is too much to hold interest.

Basketball i great during the playoffs. A playoff series develops so many story lines to follow.

But nothing gives me the nervous anticipation that the Cowboys give me. The day before the eagles vs cowboys games is like christmas eve for me.

The only sports I can really watch is Football and I can also watch Basketball but don't really have a team and only want to watch during finals or something important. Baseball is overly boring as well as other sports such as Tennis, Golf and NASCAR. Surprisingly I find Soccer to be interesting as well as Hockey. I'm a big MMA fan too.

Outside of that, I can't think of anything.

I'm definitely an "all season" kinda guy..

In order of care factor:

Dallas Cowboys
LA Lakers
LA Dodgers
LA Kings
LA Sparks
New Zealand All Blacks Rugby

There's no time of the year that even comes close to this time right here though.

Football is literally the only sport I watch, in the off-season, I just watch games I missed during the season or re-runs.

I am a two team guy. I watch the Cowboys and the Longhorns. I never miss a televised game. But that is it. My season ends when the Cowboys and Longhorns seasons end. I haven't watched a Superbowl since the Cowboys beat the Steelers.

I don't think only liking football and one team makes you like the cowboys anymore then anyone else on this site. That makes little sense.

Just because some enjoy watching college football/basketball or MLB doesn't mean that they like the boys any less than you do.

Football is all I really watch religiously.

I am a Celtics and Lakers fan (sort of a paradox, I know), but I'll really only follow them in the playoffs. Other than that I don't watch baseball.

I enjoy watching nascar during the chase or if I catch the end of a race. I can't watch a whole race beginning to end though. I'll also watch the Indy 500 every year.

I'll follow UTEP in football and basketball, but aside from going to the ocassional game, I won't watch them all that often. I was burned out of that after marching band at UTEP.

I watch a lot of football and root for whatever benefits the Cowboys the most. I used to love watching basketball because of the pace of the game, but there are too many whistles these days. I dropped baseball years ago after they went on strike and canceled the world series. I haven't watched a full game since. I like NASCAR but I'm not glued to the screen and usually do crossword puzzles while watching it.

I hope that's not the point the OP was trying to make with this thread.

If so ...> :laugh2:
