This is how the seeds look and what is left. I am also adding the opponent win %s for the teams and will give a short synopsis of draft scenarios for them.



1 Seed...Packers, 14-1, .471

2 seed...49ers, 12-3, .454 (9-2 NFC)

3 seed...Saints, 12-3, .442 (7-3 NFC, Falcons tonight)
[Week 17...vs. Panthers]

4 seed...NFC East Champion
[Cowboys, .471]
[Giants, .521]

5 seed...Lions, 10-5, .533
[Week 17...@ Packers]

6 seed...Falcons, 9-5, .483 (Saints tonight. Defeated Detroit, so would hold the head to head tiebreaker if they both finish with the same record.)

1 seed...Patriots, 11-3, .454 (9-2 AFC)
[Week 17...vs. Bills]

2 seed...Ravens, 11-4, .463 (Defeated Texans so hold head to head tie breaker.)
[Week 17...@ Bengals]

3 seed...Texans, 11-4, .446 (Moves to 2 seed if ravens lose and they win.)
[Week 17...vs. Titans]

4 seed...AFC West Champion
[Broncos, 8-7, .517, vs. Chiefs] (Hold tie breaker over Raiders due to common games win %.)
[Raiders, 8-7, .504, vs. Chargers] (Need to win and Broncos loss.)

5 seed...Steelers, 11-4, .492 (Could vault to 2 seed if they win and Ravens and Texans lose. Or 3 seed if Ravens lose and Texans win.)
[Week 17...@ Browns]

6 seed...Bengals, 9-6, .492 (Win and in. I am not sure what happens if they lose. A lot of scenarios possible.)

1 & 2 seeds get Wildcard Round byes. 3 seeds face 6 seeds and 4 seeds face 5 seeds.

Lowest remaining seed from Wildcard round face 1 seed and higher seed faces 2 seed in Divisional Round.


Draft affected by playoffs.

Teams picking 1 to 20 are the non playoff teams.

The Wildcard Round losers pick 21 to 24 based on won/loss record then strength of schedule.

Divisional Round losers pick 25 to 28 based on won/loss record then strength of schedule.

Championship Round losers pick 29 and 30 based on won/loss record then strength of schedule.

Super Bowl loser picks 31.

Super Bowl Champion picks 32.

Looking at this list of teams picking in the top 10/12 range, I think it's pretty much safe to say that losing games on purpose for draft position is no way to build a contender. These teams are perennially among the draft "winners" and they're, well, perennially there.

Just wanted to be sure.

Whoever wins Sunday between the Giants and Boys will be in the NFC Title Game if they can avoid New Orleans and Green Bay IMO.
