I know...I can't spell! But I really hope JG is getting through to the guys with his "focus on the Seahawks" words.

My greatest fear, as it has been for several years, is to win a big game like this, and then fall flat the week after.

I anxiously await this week.....

Won't happen. JG's been teaching how to handle success (as well as adversity) since DAY 1.

Given the Cowboys lack of success for too many years now, strongly doubt anybody on this team should be complacent facing Seattle. In fact every single Cowboy player should be hungrier then any of them have every been in their careers. The vets we value the most--Romo, Ware, Witten, Ratliff--know their careers are closer to the end then the beginning. They must be getting almost desperate to finally win that SB ring. Guys like Austin, Carr, Spencer, Hatcher, etc know the time clock could be soon ticking for them. Finally the younger players--Lee, Smith, Dez, Carter, Claiborne, etc--want to show they really belong and also looking for those big contracts. Point is they wouldn't be compacent but all of them to a man and to the coaching staff should be playing with one purpose in mind in each and every week and game. Beat the other team in any way they can and play hard and tough the entire 60 minutes with no quarter given.

The Cowboys no longer get any respect. Everything that has been great about the Cowboys history has become a joke. It is time for this team to step up and make their place in history shine--and beat the snot out of the Eagles, Skins, Giants and every NFL team standing in our way to the top.

From watching his Press conference today it seemed to me that he has the team focused on the next game. So we shouldnt have to worry about this.

I agree. Don't see complacency being an issue with this team under Garrett.

And JG hasn't just been teaching 'n' preaching about how to handle success/adversity, he's been simultaneously assembling a team (players & coaches) that individually have the kind of makeup to be resistant to falling victim to either.

JMO, but I believe it.

Figure we'll play a very solid game, and win, against the 'Hawks this coming Sunday.

They've put this win behind them already. Even Ogletree who had the best game of his career has moved on to the Seahawks. Go watch the player interviews at DC.com

I'm there right now. Eating it up, washing it down w/ 'Boys blue Kool-Aid. I'm here and there. Not saying I'm omnipotent, though... NOT CLAIMING THAT AT ALL! I'm duopotent: Powerfully focused in two places at the same time. :D

I'm pretty sure Michael Irvin said people in the organization said there were several players (remember Romo,Witten,Ware,Dez, Lee, and a couple others) sitting around till 4-5 in the morning after the game talking about the Seattle game. Doesn't sound like some guys are going to allow the rest to be complacent.

The Cowboys where way to complacent with this game. If they actually focused, they would have scored 70 points and only gave up -300.

If anyone on the cowboys roster is getting "Complacent" they should be slapped in the face with a cactus.

You are wise in your assessment, the Cowboys of old have done this with regularity.

I like to think that with the character guys who have a high work ethic, there will be no letup.

We will see.

Coaching can only do so much on this - gotta trust the locker room, and I trust the leaders on this year's team to keep this under control. Doesn't mean this is a cakewalk - this is a solid team with a nice defense in a hard place to play. We're only 3 point favorites.

Complacency????? After one freaking game????? If this team, or any team for that matter, gets complacent after Week 1, then they are doomed to fail. This was a poorly thought out post. How in the hell could anyone even think about complacency being an issue after freaking Week 1??????:bang2:

Considering that the Giants game was the one and only meaningfull game that they have won in a very long time, you are right. They simply won one game.

Because, HERO, in the past it was their MO...win an important game and dwell on it for several weeks.

But, hey, thanks for your input!! How bout you give me your input on how to fix global warming? Or better yet, just go ahead and put me on ignore. It might help you with your anger management issues!

:laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

Well, anti-HERO, you obviously didn't think before you typed. Really, how did this even enter your brain? I could understand it if we had reeled off 4 or 5 wins in a row, but you seriously think ANY team could let complacency creep in after Week 1? Especially considering how our seasons have ended the past decade or better??? Just pointing out that I don't see any way this or any other team could become complacent after one game. Sorry if your feelings were hurt. :D

Agreed. I don't see Romo, Witten, DWare, Garrett letting that happen to this team. You have to get through those four to get to complacency and that is a pretty strong four.
