The worst show is that New School hot garbage morning show on 105.3 The Fan..

A Skin Fan and Jet Fan talking Cowboys ... I can't wait til they get the Axe they offer absolutely nothing.

I'm just glad Jerry told the idiot Skin Fan he was an idiot for playing " Hail to Slurs " on his show there.:laugh1:

New School is bad. Gavin Dawson and the G bag nation is much, much worse.

I like the shows between those though (Elf and Slater, RAGE).

But to answer the OP's question, I don't think many really care too much for Ben and Skin, but I could be wrong. Coop and Nate is also pretty bad unless it's basketball season (which is the worst season, IMO)

The Ticket is so much better than anything else in the DFW area, and it's not even close. Norm + Bad Radio whips anything I've heard in any other market. They're not for homers though, and I think that's part of where a lot of butt-hurt feelings come from when it comes to these guys in particular. The Musers aren't too impressive to me, although Gordo can come up with some funny stuff, like Fake Jerry. The Hardline is like listening to a bunch of stoners laugh at their own jokes. Not good sports talk, but at the end of the day while I'm trying to wind down after work, I'm okay with it. If I want good sports talk, I know it's not available at that time.

As The Ticket likes to brag, "We can do what they do, but they can't do what we do."

It's 100 percent true.

Is Randy Galloway still on the air there? When I lived in Dallas I would want to blow my brains out listening to him, when he had the "little ball of hate" on it was the worst!

Im trying to figure out how these guys stay on the air.

I assume they get a salary . . . . . . . . .

I listen to ESPN Dallas online. I dont live in Dallas.

Are these guys popular in Dallas? Cowboys homies so they keep their gig?

Just curious.

In a word, No! When it comes to football, these guys are the eqivalent of Ronald McDonald and Bozo. Skin is a decent basketball anaylist despite being a little goofy. I'm not sure where they found Ben, and really don't care. They both regularly over react to any little thing that's Cowboy related and are Maverick apologists. Even being a big Maverick fan I often find them annoying and very bias. A perfect example of "bad radio".

Yeah, Galloway is on at 4 pm EST.

Most of the stuff on ESPN radio is a clown show. Galloway seems IMO to be the best of a bad bunch - at least as far as being entertaining.

You guys could have it a lot worse. Here in Salt lake there are two station, when there is barely enough going on sports wise here to support one. The only Pro Sports teams here are the Jazz and Real Salt Lake (soccer). So when it's not basketball season they spend at least 10 hrs a day talking about their crappy college football teams. Sometimes they try to talk NFL it's a train wreck!

The Ticket is by far, the most listened to sports station in DFW. I listen to all the shows. I do listen to the Musers. Not for sports though, their sports opinions are, lets say, not the most informed. But, they can be very funny. Gotta listen to fake Jerry, and they are working on Fake Garret. Too funny. Norm, tough listen, but he is the most sports knowledgeable of the group, but he basically lacks any kind of personality. Bob and Dan, eh, I can take them or leave them. Bob is very knowledgeable but is a Greenbay fan, and Dan, besides being a jerk, is a Cleveland Browns fan. The Hardline, I think they are funny, but unless you are a Texas Rangers fan, you won't get much out of them.

Skin is good for basketball stuff. Ben is just horrible. I would rather listen to the Michael Irvin show and his gay friend.

They are both terrible but Ben is a likeable guy. Skin is annoying and has a know it all attitude.

I wonder myself. Same goes for the Ticket where I believe they came from. They spend too much time on things that aren't relevant to sports IMO. I just want to hear sports. The goofy songs, the schtick's...I guess there's a market for that. 1053 the fan at times is pretty good at just talking sports.

You're crazy if you think the Ticket devotes more time to sports than ESPN does. They talk about everything BUT sports most of the time and then when they finally do come around to sports, they talk about nothing but the same vague bs the national media covers most of the time, unless Sturm or somebody is around, maybe Norm wrt the Rangers.

Ben and Skin, while goofy overreactors, get way more into the nuts and bolts of the local sports teams than anybody else. Skin is the third guy in the Mavs broadcast crews and Ben is somewhat of a baseball guy. They'll cover the third WR angle and Phil Costa and won't even touch Romo except to say how stupid it is that the Cowboys discussion never gets past him and Jerry.

I totally disagree with like half of their opinions but at least they are fairly informed about the local teams. It's not like ESPN (TV) who just repeats some dumb mantra endlessly so that they don't have to focus on the details.

The compete with Norm who is on the air from 10-12, just like every other Ticket show they dominate ESPN Radio and 105.3 the fan in ratings

just goes to show how braindead the mainstream consumer is. The ticket is garbage. They'll spend 5 minutes of every hour talking sports, and 40 minutes making in jokes and talking about how drunk they got on their camping trips.

I don't get what you guys are talking about when you say The Ticket doesn't talk sports. When the Cowboys won on wednesday, the next day was nothing but Cowboys talk on all of their shows. Practically every segment was about the Cowboys. IMO if you are not listening to the ticket you are missing out.
Sturm is a great resource for that station as he writes about the Cowboys on Fox Sports southwest and he really gets into the nuts and bolts of every Cowboys game. Norm is...we'll he's Norm. This guy host's the post game show with Donnie after every Cowboys game and is back up to the radio station by 6 am the next day...no matter when the post game show ends...last game the post game show ended at 1am.
BTW...last Friday Tony Romo decided he wanted to talk about the state of the team...who did he call???the ticket. It was on Tony's whim and the ticket dropped what they were doing and just let him talk about the game and everything else.
Oh and another thing...Norm has already talked about next year's draft and players he thinks the Cowboys should be looking at. Some times he worries to much about every little thing but I can tell you he knows about every little thing and anyone who talks that much about the Cowboys...he's a fan of the team.
JMHO :star:

I was wondering the same thing about Ben & Skin. Because I'm in New England and stream The Ticket alot, which is where I used to hear them fill in. I didn't think they were very good at that point...compared to the typical Ticket personalities, I found them boring...but I haven't heard them recently.

Put it this way. When their show is done the Herd is next - and that is a huge upgrade. Thats how bad Ben and Skin are.

Excellent post. BAD Radio is not very good IMHO. The Musers (Dunham and Miller plus Gordon Keith) rule the day. Hardline is stoner baseball talk.

Disagree. Ticket has Norm and BAD Radio. Those are the only quality shows. Musers and Hardline are the same. Crap. Gordon Keith is a huge idiot who has never been funny a day in his life. Craig Miller is insufferable to hear discuss sports and George is not much better. Corby is some wannabe OU guy who attended TCU and is designed to be a yuk monkey. Rhyner needs to be put out of his misery as he has nothing.

Give me GAC all day over Hardline. And Mike and Mike, although just a syndicated program and not local, is on par with the Musers.
