Commanders 24

The big difference in the game will be having a healthy Demarco Murray.

I am really surprised at the amount of fans thinking the Commanders will win this one.....it's kinda disappointing actually.

Fed Ex Field will be louder than its 1997 debut come Sunday Night.

We're 6-0 since the BYE and I see no real reason why the streak ends at Week 17....a LOUD Fed Ex Field....division title on the line.....to sweep the arch rival and send them home. Rg3 is prepared for another shootout VS the Cowboys because I totally expect both offenses to compensate for their spotty defenses with a FG winning a close game.

34 Skins
31 Boys

Dude your "loud" fed x field is not that much more effective than the Dallas home field cage dancers. In fact you will probably see quite a few patches of blue in the stands on Sunday night so hear we come!!

I would agree with the defense. They started a streak of "bad" from that point forward and now at least the offense knows they have to put up points to win. I really think the key is Romo and Murray not giving the ball to the Commanders though. Romo threw two picks in that first game and Murray's fumble crushed us against the Saints. The Commanders D should be at just as big a disadvantage this time around in my opinion. Barring lopsided turnover margin, it is probably a game where the last team with the balls wins.

Honestly, if I were coaching the defense, I would think about going with a Tampa-2 style and play soft coverage all day with minimal blitzing.

Given the weapon that RG III is, I would try to force him to be patient and execute 10-plus play drives in order to score and count on mistakes short-circuiting a few drives.

my head tells me 24-20 Commanders... too many losses on D to compensate for against a playoff caliber team in their house, despite tremendous competitive effort on behalf of the Cowboys.

my heart tells me that this time, Romo won't be denied and will put on an aerial display that will shock and awe the Skins from jumpstreet, as the Cowboys roll to a shockingly easy victory after falling behind 3-0.

Call it a gut feeling. Cowboys 37, Skins 28, a late fg by Bailey seals the deal and Romo puts his doubters on notice entering the playoffs.

He's a guy that can beat ANY team if he gets ANY help to do so. This time he gets what he needs and deserves.

Romo to Dwayne Harris for the go-ahead score.

I had a dream that Harris scored the decisive touchdown.

And the score in my dream ...

Cowboys 27
Skins 17

It's only a dream, it's only a dream, it's only a dream.

Without looking at other replies, I'll be a homer and say what the heck we'll hang on to win this one. I do think the offensive as a whole is doing a pretty decent job, and the defense won't be as bad again. It was a game where they made the plays and we didn't. This time according to the cosmic laws that govern these things, we'll get the breaks and make the plays when needed to win - late in the fourth quarter probably... Dallas 34 - Skins 30

Why is it disappointing? Are people supposed to believe we're going to win just because they're Cowboys fans?

If this were the 90s Cowboys and fans picked the Commanders, I could see the disappointment.

But this team was beaten by the Skins earlier.
We're playing in DC meaning no home field advantage.
We are beaten up on defense with a less than 100 percent Ware.
Sean Lee is out.
The safeties got abused by the Skins last time.
Dez has a finger injury.
Our record of SNF hasn't been very good the past few years.
Our win-and-in record is 0-2 over the past four years.

Not saying we can't win, but I can see why other posters believe we're going to lose.

Not at all. If you know my history, then you'd know I am not a blind homer. But what is disappointing is the lack of faith in the team right now, especially knowing how we have played the last few weeks. Yes we lost to the Saints, but it was still a highly contested game that we could have won, against a high scoring offense that needed help from Cowboy mistakes.

I really believe that even with all the injuries on defense that the Cowboys are playing its best team ball all year. We won 3 out of the last 4 during a stretch where many here said we would be lucky to win 1 or 2.

The Cowboys missed a lot of players on offense during the first matchup, yet the Cowboys were still able to put 31 points on a Washington defense that isn't that good against the pass. Murray didn't play at all, Austin was hurt early, and the offensive line was in shambles. It will be a different game than the first time around.

Fair enough.

Thanks for the explanation.

For what it's worth, I really think the Cowboys and Tony Romo are going to win this game.

I just have that feeling. Hopefully, that feeling isn't being produced by that leftover Christmas dinner I just finished eating. :laugh2:

I have a gut feeling, too. Something just seems different about this team than the previous letdown seasons. I'm seeing guys play with heart and fight to the end, and that isn't something we are used to seeing.

It feels like tonight should be tomorrow night already. Have no idea how I'm going to get any sleep Saturday night. Hopefully the players are in better shape when it comes to that.

Sunday afternoon is going to be torture. I think I'm gonna have to find things to do to pass the time or else I'll go stir crazy.

Sunday will be a long day - waiting and waiting and waiting.

But, it will be worth it when the Boys walk off the field smiling and high fiving having just won the NFC East! :starspin :star: :starspin :star: :starspin

I'm gonna go with my girl to see "Django Unchained" around 4 PM...then we are going to our local sports bar where we watched the Giants and Ravens (our other huge games this year prior to this where we knew the tension would be high).

Part of me wants to sit at a TV screen all day and watch the Chicago vs Detroit and Green Bay vs Minnesota games, (as they could determine whether this game is 100 percent do or die for the Skins) but I know if I do that I'd just drive us both nuts. lol
