Patriots terminated the contract of former Pro Bowl guard Brian Waters, who was on Reserve/Did Not Report List.

"There also were reports he'd be willing to play for a team closer to his Texas home, but the Patriots never relinquished his rights."

6-time Pro-Bowler is legit. He just turned 36, but could be 1-year stop gap if he's willing to play another season. Thoughts?

For 1 year I dont see a logical reason to not bring him in for a look

Is he better than Livings or Bernie at this point in his career? If yes, then get him in here

I'd bring him in but I doubt we do. Probably go with our guys

that's the big issue -- being older and having missed a year, that might be tough to come back from

I don't think he wants to play football any more. Maybe he just didn't get along with the Pats in some way but I don't know. Certainly couldn't hurt to kick the tires.

And its not the wrong side of 30. It's the wrong side of 35.

Jerry dropped the ball when he became available,he could have solved so many of our problems at guard instead of having to sign scrubs like Livings and Bernie.

My guess is rather than go dumpster diving the Boys think they have enough trash to recycle along the OL. They prob view what we have as having more possible upside.

Waters didn't even play in 2012.

He held out the entire season.

If someone can't figure out why this wouldn't be a good move, I'm not going to bother explaining it.

Now why would you bring some sense into this?

Still think he's better than the scrubs playing guard. He held out last season because he wanted to play closer to his family in texas. He missed his family
