I love Irvin. Love his fire. Love his passion. But some people way over blow that to the point that they make it seem like him wanting to win simply made the team win.

They devalue the contribution and needs of Aikman, Smith, that defense, that O-line.

I mean do you think Irvin only had that passion after they started winning? Was he never demanding 110% effort in 88 and 89 and 90 when the Cowboys weren't winners necassarily? Or did that only start to happen from 91 on?

You take away Aikman and his demands of perfection, Emmitt and his drive to be the greatest of all time, Jimmy's desire to field a perfect unit...take away any one of those factors and guess what happens? Irvin is a really passionate, fiery, wonderful player who never wins a ring.

I have no problem with anyone having Irvin as their favorite player because of his passion and desire to win and the leadership that he showed but I'm not buying that the team was as great as it was based heavily on that factor alone.

Him wanting to win didn't just affect him he demanded that of his teammates
also, just listen to Nate talk about Irvin challenged him during games.

How can Irvin, as a rookie in 89, come to Dallas and be "Michael Irvin" with all those vets around? It took awhile for him to earn the respect of his teammates through blood and sweat.

You do remember that when Jimmy got there Irvin had a "list" of players that were just there to pick up a paycheck. Again people devalue the impact of a dynamic leader, if this team had a player with one-third the leadershipof Irvin we probably make the playoffs the last 2 years.

Kenny Gant k-mart were always so much fun to watch but I would say Irvin is my all time favorite. But I loved watching Kevin Smith Brock Marion and Woody all play together. Those were the days

Emmitt Smith, with Jason Witten catching up pretty quickly.

Emmitt was my role model when I was young and going through school. I didn't get a chance to watch his entire career, but I've always loved Emmitt for what he has accomplished.

I've had the privilege of watching Jason Witten throughout his entire career, and he is a close 2nd to Emmitt as my favorite Cowboy. He's tough, never gives up, is such a class act, and a solid player. I hope he retires a Cowboy, and that he also gets to hoist the Lombardi at least once before he hangs 'em up.

Brice was a fourth rounder in the infamous "special teams and backups" 1995 draft. Brice had been considered a very good prospect after his junior year at Mississippi, but was shot in the abdomen, and lost a ton of blood. He never played as well again after the shooting.

He played fairly well as a rookie with the Cowboys. His off-season training consisted of cigars, beer and cruising around in his new car. He got his first few checks and it went to his head. After he got a little money, he lacked any motivation.

My father became a Dallas Cowboys fan as an immigrant to California because of Tom Landry, despite them not making the playoffs the year he began watching football. LOL, I couldn't imagine someone in today's age being like, "I'm a Pats fan because I love Bill Belichick." But to the fact that they didn't even make the playoffs, that is like someone beginning to watch the NFL this year and saying, "I like the Cowboys because of Jason Garrett." Shows you Tom Landry's greatness that he was able to capture someone's heart who began watching the game despite not even being a winning team at the time.

Staubach is the best quarterback in Boys' history and one of the greatest ever. He put the franchise on the map. That 70s team broke the "Next Year's Champion" curse and they would never have done it without Roger. He would also put up crazy numbers in today's game.

You can imagine my reaction when we selected a CB coming off a gunshot wound to the chest.

To me, he was the true #21. It was disgraceful to see Deion take that number.
