To be honest, the inconsistent play we get from out Cowboys gives anyone a reason to change their prediction from week to week.

Fair enough. It's not the predictions that blow me away, per se. It's that guys like Pessimist Cowboy (not to single you out Pessimist, but you are, well, a pessimist) who argue all year about how bad the team is turn our to expect an outcome that's exactly the same as the outcome I'd predict. The Natural? 10-6. Ultimategamer? 11-5. There were years here where I'd argue for 11 months with posters like bbgun about whether or not the organization was a disaster. The coach a moron, our FA signings were foolish. Our QB was lacking something. Then at prediction time? We're both sitting there guessing 10-6.

This isn't a knock, or a plea for consistency between predictions and posting style, or anything like that. I just think it's really interesting. I actually like it, a lot, because it's the one time of the year you get to sort of remember that we're all hopeful Cowboys fans, after all, and that it's not just posting-to-validate-an agenda. Then the losses start, and everybody's an idiot again. :)

8-8 or 9-7 We'll lose to Oakland or KC and beat Denver or GBay. I think we'll split with each team in our conference but hoping the Phili experiment miserably fails and the gboys implode in mid season with a string of losses. I also hope we can take 2 out of 3 from the NFC North to put us in a playoff contention as well.
I would love to predict a better W/L and I'm usually giddy at this time of the year about the DC however this team has holes on special teams and OLine and does not yet feel like a complete team to physically compete with the likes of SF or SEA.

Anyone who thinks this team is gonna be less than 10-6 isn't seeing things very clearly. This team is awesome, it's okay to accept that.

12-4, including 5-1 in the division. I mean, I'm hearing things like we're going to lose to the Lions or Bears? The Broncos?! At home?!? Child, please.

Right now I'm thinking 9-7, and so playoffs would depend on the Wild Card situation shakes out and how the East shakes out; if the NFC is as strong as it appears, 9-7 probably wouldn't be good enough, but you just never know. I never would've thought 9-7 would be sufficient to win the East two years in a row, but that's just how it turned out the last two years.

While I like that we finally end the season at home, I do think our schedule is deceptively tough - the AFC West gets trashed, but I think SD and KC will be significantly better. There are very few teams on our schedule that are likely to be elite, but I see a lot of teams likely to be solid, and I don't see any of them being a cupcake game, other than Oakland and maybe one other team that unexpectedly bombs (hopefully I'm just wrong about the AFCW).

Certainly there have been things to like about the Boys in TC/preseason, but after everything we've seen in the Romo/Garrett era, I'm at the point where if you want me to believe you're better than a 9-7 team, then you just gotta show me.

Too many people are still drinking the Jerry Jones Koolaid ......... for me, 8-8 or 9-7, You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig!!!.....the two weakest units on this team are thee most important units of a team in winning and other than Fredericks, what have the cowboys done to improve the offensive and defensive lines on this team, NOTHING!! Games are won and loss in the trenches and until Jerry figures that out by spending capital and numerous high draft picks on those two key units of a football team to fix them, I'll stick to 8-8 or 9-7 until they prove otherwise......that seems like a safe bet since the last three years have proven that over and over again.....

9-7. Playoffs are made and won in the trenches I'm not sure we have the depth on both lines to do any damage if we do get in.
