I don't know if this is going to be an explosive offense like many of you think, remember, it's Callahan calling the plays.

Only because TO was an established receiver in his prime. Thats like saying Dez is already better than TO, so hes a lock for the HOF and 150+ TD's?

It's nothing like saying that.

HOF worthiness is built over an entire career. It has very little to do with production in any one season. It requires years of sustained excellence. Dez doesn't need a HOF career to be just as productive as TO was when he was here. Dez is already that productive.

Doing a little research and I can pretty confidently say I don't think it really matters. The Cowboys can get to where they want to go with far less. Heck, last year's Patriots team scored 557 points, which as far as I can tell is like the 3rd most ever. That was a good offensive team obviously but did anyone really think it was some team for the ages? They racked up that many points mostly because of their schedule and the beatings they get to administer on the hapless AFC East. They hung 90 of those points just on the BILLS, for cripes sake.

At this point I'm convinced Brian Waters has a greater impact on a team than anyone since Adrian Peterson. He can turn water into wine and fart square bubbles. I hate fan forums sometimes.

If Brian Waters plays anything like he did in New England and the offense stays relatively healthy this season, can the Cowboys score 500 points?

That would be the most points scored by any Cowboys team since the inception of the franchise, but it's not such a rarity for offensively talented teams in this age of offense-friendly officiating.

The 2007 team scored 455 points, which remains second most in Cowboys history, and I put to you the 2013 Cowboys have more talent at the offensive skill positions.

Dez >= TO
Miles > Crayton
Witten = Witten
Romo >= Romo
Murray > Barber

500 points is a reasonable goal. 400 points should be the bare minimum. What say you?

An average of over 31 points a game? No, I don't think so. Nor do I think it's necessary. I think a 27/28 point average would give us a pretty amazing record, like in the 12-4 or 13-3 territory.

Like it or not, how well Brian Waters plays is going to affect how well the offense plays.

As we saw against Cincinnati in preseason, the ability to step up in the pocket can be the difference between a field goal attempt and a touchdown pass to Miles Austin.

And Brian Waters is an ancient guard who is going to get beat from time to time.
