Act like you've been there before....

To me, this is the most overrated statement people make in sports. Most sports have a lot of raw emotion in them, and when you do something great, sometimes you have to let it out. Within the rules of course.

He was called when he made a slashing motion across his neck. Personally I think that was a bit ticky tacky on the refs but bottom line don't do that after a TD

The throat slash has been banned for several years it's not a tick tacky call it's a penalty that gets called every time a player is stupid enough to do it.

I think it is a silly call my view. I agree if it cost you 15 then don't do it. I'm sure you hated the game yesterday kind of kills your slamming of the boys but I'm sure you will find something

Exactly. There is a world of difference between what he did, and an actual throat slash gesture.

He did it right near his neck.. you all whine that the rules are becoming too subjective, then when something is called as it should be, whine about that, too.

Gotta pick a side..

It seemed more like when people say "it's over, that's a wrap" gesture to me more than a throat slash. But i'm sure the refs couldnt tell what it was....

I was gonna come in and post the same exact thing. That's EXACTLY what it is. Its not a "throat slash". Its a "ITS OVER" gesture. "I Can't be stopped" type gesture. But I don't fault them for giving it to them. I just think they need to get in tune with that gesture but Dez probably shouldn't do it. Funny right afterwards the Rams got a penalty and got unfavorable field position lol.

He should've got penalized. I just think its important to know that it wasn't a "throat slash" like they tried to portray it is.

Garrett also reamed him after the penalty. It looked like Dez took full responsibility, he keep nodding his head yes like "Yes, yes, I know I screwed up"

It could have been or it could not have been.. we really don't know. That's why it was penalized.

Kansas City did it at least twice in the game we played them without it being called.

You do know, the gesture remains the same despite his intentions.

So really, it doesn't matter what he meant by it, it's still a dumb mistake which thankfully didn't cost us.

Things you should never do after a big play: throat slash gesture, spin the ball on the ground near the opponent's face, go to the ground in celebration, salsa dance. The first three are clear penalties, the last one should be a penalty.

That rule is stupid. Its not like he is making the move as a malicious action but instead using it to refer to the situation as being over. People in the sports world make that gesture all the time and the fact that it is penalized as if he is referring to an actual throat slit is ridiculous.

But all in all a rule is a rule and he should know not to do that.

Actually the move is penalized in virtually every professional sports league.

A throat slash is a violent gesture which is why it's been banned and carries a stiff penalty. The other part of your comment has no relevance to this discussion and is nothing more than a personal slam because my opinion doesn't agree with yours. I'm honest about the team and the players. If you don't like honest, unbiased opinions ignore my posts.

What's great about scoring? That's what you are supposed to do. Players should be more concerned with how they are going to score the next TD rather than celebrating the last one.
