My only loyalty is to the Dallas Cowboys, not to players, not to coaches, and certainly not to ownership. If we do our part, buying, coming to games, watching, etc, then they should do their part. Win. And if we have a Coach, Garrett, who can't make the playoffs 3 or 4 years in a row, this means that he's not good enough. And why should we settle for not making the playoffs? This fan base needs to get some lower parts and start expecting more from "America's Team"

I think Garrett was on the hot seat at the start of the season but I don't think any one game is a make or break game, I think the season as a whole is what will determine his fate. Thing with sports it follows no script if by chance if we dropped this game who is to say Dallas does not reel off 4 or 5 game in a row and sitting at the top. We play the games as they come and at the end of 16 we see where we are.

Oh I agree, Jerry is not going to make a move in the middle of the season unless we lose like 5 or 6 straight. However, if we miss the playoffs I think Jerry is going to have to do some serious thinking about the direction this program is headed under Garrett.

Coaches in the NFL that cant post better than .500 records every season do not stay employed forever. At some point, Garrett has to start actually winning games and injuries or new defense or whatever are simply excuses by the time you get to year 4 of a coach's program.

For those saying a new defense gives Garrett an out, I am confused. Werent we like 16th or so last year in total defense with Ryan and a bunch of scrubs off the street? We are like what, bottom 5 or bottom 10 now in total defense? I thought the purpose of changing DCs was to make the defense better than last year, not significantly worse.

If the options were to keep Ryan and the 16th ranked defense or hire Kiffen and blow the defense up and chalk this season up to a rebuild....................I dont think it was explained very well to use fans. I know I would not have been in favor of doing a full rebuild on D and just tank the season as a "conversion year".

Just saying.

Is Garrett on the hot seat? Now I am not saying he will be in jeopardy of being fired immediately if we lose, I am just asking if a loss puts him on the hot seat? Meaning, will Jerry maybe start to think about some what if scenarios and what direction to go in if this thing heads south and we miss the playoffs.

Missing the playoffs when the NFC East is historically bad would be about as huge a coaching blunder as it would get. If you cant win the East this year, of all years, then yikes!!!

I say yes, if we lose to Philly and drop out of first, I think Garrett is officially on the hot seat then. If we then lose at Detroit the following week................well, lets just say that scenario would not play out well for Garrett.

Or we could lose and Jerry says "its a moral victory" and we get more of the same.........status quo.

I like Garrett

Then, i beleieve, we do t wrap up the division or have a chance to, until we play them on the last day of regular season, in dallas......

I would rather, run away with division. Wrap it up early. And focus on getting healthy and playoffs.....

He's not going to get fired mid season but if we finish 8-8 again (or worse), I think he starts to get a little warm.

Totally agree, its gonna get hot real soon... once the Cowboys rack up a couple of back to back losses. I see them losing this week,,, primarily cause they have sucked on the road and are not getting any healthier. I hope they win, but I know the odds are not in their favor. But that Mr. Jason Garrett...he needs to get every win he can cause the the schedule is only going to get harder. This team is destined for a 8-8 season at best, win one, lose one and cant stay healthy... means Garrett should be gone at the end of the year. This team just can not put it all together. The HC is the guy responsible,,,,the one who job is to put it all together.. and Garrett is only putting bits and pieces together trying to stack just ONE back to back win this season. Its a tough deal and I wonder why this team cant be a little healthier than they have been.... it makes you wonder WHY or what is causing all these health issues....... all I know... is since Garret was named Head Coach this team has been consistently.....inconsistent...but its also been that way for 17 years...so nothing new.

As long as we get a "moral" victory, he's safe!

Try to understand why Jerry said that. He knew Romo was going to lot of heat from media so he made some statements like "Moral Victory" in order to divert some heat away from Romo, hence the headline and it worked, Jerry has taken lot of heat and is able to take it, he was doing Romo a favor.
