I think we can pretty much all agree that this season has been a roller coaster. I know some on here have a good perspective on things and never let a football team get them too high or too low. But some of us don't have that kind of self control. o_O

Anyway...do you have another team, in any sport, that had a great season (MLB) or maybe is off to a fast start this year (NBA/ NHL) that helps you through this Cowboys' season?

I do not. I am a lifer fan of the Expos/ Nationals. And the Nats were probably the biggest underachieving team in baseball. And my Brooklyn Nets are off to a 2-4 start.

So do you have any other rooting interests that ease the pain?

Kinda. A friend and I have a Connected Franchise on Madden 25. My Dallas Cowboys in that league are undefeated. At least I have that going for me...

So, college football is my saving grace. I really don't have an allegence with any particular team. I just like a good game and there are several every week. Much better product too, IMO.

I don't watch any other pro or college sports.

The Dallas Cowboys are the only professional team that I cheer for and follow.

Oh, .. correction, I always cheer very aggressively for the team that is playing the steelers.

But I have no MLB or NBA team that I follow.

I following the Mountaineers in football and basketball, but after many good years, .. that isn't working out real well right now. LOL

My most dependable team though is my local high school, and alma maters football team.

They have not had a losing season since 1967. Think about that for a bit. A high school, that obviously does not recruit, ... having that much success for such a long period of time with just the kids that grow up in our town. That blows me away.

They have qualified for the post season playoffs for 21 consecutive seasons. Finished #2 in Class AA, and play #15 Friday night.

I have been the PA announcer for 20 of those seasons. It is a blast!

When the Cowboys and Mountaineers let me down, I can always count on them to keep me happy.

Mavs, ECU Pirates (college fb), UNC Tarheels (college bball), Stars

Plus, blasphemy I know, but if Dallas does not make the playoffs, I'll somewhat pull for the Panthers and Bengals ..lol All my relatives live near those teams and pull for them..and I at one time lived there too. So that wopuold be Cowboys 99%, Panthers/Benglals 1%, all other NFL 0%

I didn't know what to think when they hired Roy I was just really surprised. I did hear that he was coaching in Canada but still I didn't think he'd be a NHL coach let alone the Avs coach. Did you see the interview last month that Roy had with Osgood? OMG that was so awkward, even for me sitting at home watching it. If you haven't seen it you should check it out because it was great.

I am so jealous, I would have loved to see any of their cup runs in person but unfortunately I live to far away. I got into the Avs/hockey thanks to my boyfriend who loves all Colorado teams and I started following the avs at the perfect time...their Stanley cup years so i'm spoiled. We live in Ohio so we go and watch the Avs when they play the Penguins and Columbus but I won't go to Detroit because it's still heated with the fans. Anyways, it's great to know that there's another Avs fan around here. Cheers my friend!

Oh, yes, the Red Wings. I have cousins from Michigan who like them. I call that team the Commie Wings.

I hate them and their fans aren't very nice to opposing teams fans. I just avoid the whole issue and stay home. When I went to Detroit for the cowboys games the stadium was half full of boys fans and Lions fans didn't have much to say.

LOL, it isn't like they moved to a different city. It is still the same team

You do not know how much I hate the DH.;) The Astro's also happen to be a complete joke right now and really couldn't compete with any Triple A teams. Also, I blame the Astros new owner for the entire CSN-Houston fiasco which has kept me from being able to watch the Houston Rockets. It is a long story, but the Astro's owner nixed a carriage deal with Direct TV. Only people with Comcast cable can watch the Rockets (or Astro's for that matter) and Comcast is not available where I live.

First round of the playoffs, .. after falling behind 7-0 when the other team ran back the opening KO for a TD, they tied it at 7 by the end of the qtr.

Went on to win 54-20.

Cowboys, Spurs

So you root for one franchise that has a terrible front office and another team that, most say, has one of the best front offices in all of pro sports. I'll let you figure out which is which. o_O

I root for one franchise that had Tom Landry, Roger Staubach, and Chad Hennings and another who had David Robinson and Gregg Popovich.

I will let you figure out why that is important to me.

No! I am not a baseball fan, basketball fan, soccer fan or hockey fan! I am not even a NFL fan per se. I am a Dallas Cowboys' fan. All of my eggs are in one basket therefore they get broken a lot. Over the years I have made some adjustments. I don't go to the top of the tallest building anymore and consider jumping off.

My way is very perverse. Since JJ robbed us of OUR Cowboys I have lived and died a 1,000 deaths with them for over 50 years, The adjustment is a process, i.e. Garrett, but it is a double edged sword.

When the Cowboys win I cheer and celebrate their winning, with a Pepsi. When they lose I celebrate Jerry's pain and still drink a Pepsi. On the one hand I celebrate big if they win and I celebrate a little if they lose. It does take the sting out of it.

Cowboys' history:
Twenty plus consecutive winning seasons under Landry. We won the big prize twice and won the conference championship numerous times. Winning was an entitlement. We were accustomed to it. We deserved it.
Then JJ and Jimmy took over and we hit paydirt again. Jimmy quickly took us to the top again twice but JJ wasn't getting his due as a mastermind and NFL guru. Switzer came in and won another SB with Jimmy's team. Jerry said any one of 500 coaches could win a SB with his team and he set about to prove it.

Apocalypse, famine, plagues, tsunamis, tornadoes followed, and the NFL football lord stands at the top of the mountain and declares the Cowboys is the most valuable football team ever and pays the greatest dividend even though he loves the Cowboys more than money. His 8-8 plan seems to validate his claims.
Suckers like me are hooked regardless of their wins and losses, so you have to find a way where you can see a silver lining in the losses and it won't hurt as much. I plan to copyright this plan of surviving every game regardless of who wins or who loses. Please send me a dollar to join and I will give you an official
card which states you are a card carrying NFL Dallas Cowboys Jerry owned football team survivor. It is handwritten on a piece of brown paper sack paper. Guaranteed authentic!

Small market, restricted resource San Antonio Spurs are 9-1. Top of the league. Been winning and contending for almost a generation. I can barely remember the owners name.

Thank God for them.

Cowboys only in the NFL, I did like the Bert Jones led Colts back as a kid, but never over the Cowboys

Longhorns first then any of the other old SWC teams except Arkansas

Mavericks, but I was a big Phi Slamma Jamma fan and the Mavs were so bad I never saw them (TV) so I loved the Rockets when Olajuwon was there. I always respected the Spurs and loved seeing them beat the Lakers. Follwed Jordan later in his career he was just so good he won me over. Basketball for me depends alot on the players.. Through the years I've rooted for many teams because of a player.

76ers Dr J, Moses Malone, Cahrlse Barkley
Pistons because of Joe Dumars
Balzers because of Clyde the glide
Rockets - Olajuwon
