I have always believed that Stats would tell a person how good someone is but Tony Romo has changed that theory.......

so you are saying romo isn't good enough to get into a shootout against a backup QB? I agree.

Rodgers did it many times with a 32nd ranked defense. Went 15-1 and with ZERO run game.

So go root for the Packers and your Da-Bull Check man crush Aaron Rodgers.

And for the 1000th time, THEY WEREN'T NEARLY AS BAD ON DEFENSE AS WE ARE! Stop using yards allowed as a measure for how good a defense is. Just because NFL.com uses it, doesn't mean it's an accurate stat. Points is what matters. They were 19th that year, and gave up less in a full season than we have in 14 games. As for running game, they rushed forr 1558 yds, or about 97 yards/game. Not great, but definitely not ZERO. But that's okay, don't let facts get in the way of you anti-Romo agenda.

And yeah, no QB should have to try to win a shoot out that involves his defense giving up 5 TD's on 5 possessions in the 2nd half. A couple years ago, Brady lost in a shoot out to Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Bills. Brady threw 4 INT's in that game, and they blew a big lead. I know he deserves a break, but according to you, that's all Romo does, and he's the only one who does it.

I think, my favorite thing about you as a poster is how in every thread you go in, you make solid cases, while presenting different perspectives on the same subject which support that argument. It's amazing how in depth you are and your insight is second to none. Keep up the solid posting, as it's refreshing to hear such an original and truthful voice here. You my friend, are one of a kind.

No he is just another romo hater. Dime a dozen

and that 15-1 packer team got knocked out early in the playoffs. He convienently does not mention that. And the reason they lost was because of their D.

It is going to take a lot to overcome his perception and not sure there is even enough playing time left to do so, even if things go right :(

Yep, and the fact that they turned the ball over 5 times. But still, they couldn't prevent a Hail Mary at the end of the half, and couldn't stop the run in the 4th quarter, and mighty Aaron couldn't overcome that, and couldn't get a score when they needed it most.

In fact, Rodgers hasn't had success bringing his team back late in games, and hasn't won a thing without a top 5 defense. But hey, he went 15-1 one year.

Aaron , Eli, and Big Ben, are all examples of QB's who have benefited one way or another from a solid cast to overcome anything they may do.

They escape the heat because of the SB win. Even Favre removed the " skunk smell" after his W.

Even John Elway was a QB who couldn't win the big one until Terrell Davis joined the team.

Brett Favre was overrated. Romo is a lot like him without the cannon arm. Favre could have won a lot more superbowls if he wasn't such a gunslinger.

He did throw some game enders in the playoffs. One to end the game when Giants made their first run, and before that one against McNabb led Philly team

Any other QB would have been benched or even released by now. This guy is a failure as a QB.

IF it comes down to Philly vs Dallas winner takes all, I FULLY expect Romo to choke. It's almost as certain as death and taxes.

Romo has made some miraculous plays and led a lot of comebacks in his career.

But if you don't think he will make a critical mistake at a critical point in a big game, you are blind and delusional.

I argued that wasn't so for a long time, that it was always someone else's fault, but I have finally had to accept reality.

Romo isn't going to lead this team to a championship. He is what he is; an above average talent who just isn't the leader some of his contemporaries are.

Name one guy in recent history who was benched and released who was in a similar situation.

I cannot think of a single player in any major sport in the past 20 or so years who was benched because they weren't clutch. The fact that no GM is willing to put any stock into that should tell you something.

I'm fairly sure they won't even let you become a GM if you believe in "clutch", since it has been proven to be a figment of ESPN's imagination about a billion times.

sadly i agree with this part

Except it isn't, because since 2011, HE HAS THE MOST COMEBACK WINS IN THE NFL.

Good lord. I don't know how much longer I can keep coming here.

It just keeps getting worse.
