I think Jerry is throwing the '14 season

how about JJones wants to give Kiffen a fair chance since the scheme was pretty good in Seattle and his Dline coach might be kinda good also.
Monte Kiffen has not forgotten how to coach a defense. I crack up over all the geriatric/depends type remarks when it comes to Kiffen. I remember when we played the Bucs back years ago and was getting worked by Kiffens defense in every conceivable way thinking that I wish he was our defensive coordinator. I think with the ungodly amount of injuries along with Bruce Carters slow learning ability that Monte has earned another year at least. Enough of this Jerry doesn't want to pay 2 coaches if he fires a coach under contract nonsense. Jerry has enough money to pay if he was of a mind to go in a different direction. I am pulling for this entire coaching staff to get this thing put together and right the ship.

The sky has already hit the ground.

Not winning the division this year is an absolute joke.
It missed heads and hit the ground? What a freaking shame. I was hoping for some concussions and maybe a few comas.

Just by bringing back both coordinators. I tried thinking about why he'd bring back Kiffin, but nothing came to mind. Maybe there's a QB he's licking his chops at (Jameis)? I don't know what his logic is, but I'm already ready for next off-season, pretty sad. I was going to go to 2 games next year, but not wasting my money on watching this train-wreck.

*sigh*

Its frustrating.

But don't fold as a fan.

After 45 years of being a ticket holder

We've had tougher days.

There is no question the frustration is high but now that we can clearly see the problems...

..it can get better.

I think Jerrah is trying to make Garrett our next great coach.

I see a lot to like with Garrett.

The unfortunate part about Redball is he had no assistant coaches to bring here to speed up the process.

I think Jerrah realizes he hasn't supported Garrett as well as he could have.

Hang in there.

If this is true then why was it so exposed while he was at USC? Here is the issue. The NFL is cyclical and right now teams like the Eagles, Pats for awhile now, Denver and others are trying to speed up play and put teams at a disadvantage. Those are the teams that gave the USC D fits and record defeats. Until that trend changes, his D has a propensity to get worked. The offenses adjusted to his style D so he needs to adjust back. Will that happen? Who knows. But simply saying hi D worked so it should again is just not accurate. If that was the case teams would still be running Landry's Flex D and having guys on offense move out of their stance on the line. The game evolves. Has Kiffin?

Jerry keeping the coordinators is not hard to understand.
He has a staff on a make-good season.
He has zero reason to start hiring guys he knows is a coin flip away from having to fire.

This IMHO is one of Jerry's smarter football moves.

If we do reboot at least he won't choke the new coach day 1 with 5 or 6 assistants he wants to keep because they are already under contract.

IF Dallas decides to tank it will come after a slow start a la the Wade season.
It truly is a shame we didn't just tank that year.
Bouncing back got Garrett a job but at the expense of us making more changes and having MUCH better draft picks.

You could at least spell his name correctly. How did he do at his last stop?

Why would you think Jerry knows how to properly throw a season?

Meh, JJ is just senile, inept and a BILLIONAIRE. He won't change anything until he has to. (plummeting ticket sales and tv ratings)

Yeah no. At worst, the team will be 8-8 to 7-9 again.

ya think? I say that EVERY year: literally, because it's true. They'be been a .500 team for roughly 15 + years and it isn't going to change any time soon. Shame because this fan base and players like Witten, Dez and Lee deserve better.

Don't worry. By the time the draft rolls around this past season will be nothing but a distant memory and we'll be back in full "hope" mode. We'll hear about successful mini-camps and keep replaying YouTube videos of our prospects to convince ourselves of all their potential. Then we'll have a prediction thread about the season where we go giddy and predict 11 and 5...maybe even 12 and 4. We'll pray Romo doesn't get hurt, wait for Ware to bounce back, hope for improvements along the lines and excuse any poor play from rookies as newbie mistakes and hear how we'll need to give them 3 years before we can judge the pick or the player. Throw in the standard Garrett coaching miscues that will cost us a game or two and and we'll be right back where we started......wash, rinse, repeat.

Other than Ware being in the best shape of his life and Romo having found some things/tweaks in the offseason that will help him be better (but won't tell the media what they are), I think you just about nailed it.
