They say Timmy Jernigan might very well be the pick at 16.

Id like it.

Yuk! Man I don't see what everyone likes about him. I'm not a scout, so I don't know about point of attack and leverage and all that. The games I looked at, he was just meh. Nothing worthy of a 1st round pick. But what do I know.

I think theyre going on Crawford being a 3tech and Jernigan being a 1tech. That would be a nice combo. Both around 295-300lbs Can get up the field and create that inside push Marinelli wants. What i notice is nobody is willing to give donald that middle RD1 draft prospect. More bottom RD1 RD2 spot. Size is clearly playing into him not being a legit RD1 selection

I was more enthusiastic about TJ a few weeks ago. What can I say, except back in limbo. Waiting for the combine.

They don't give Donald that spot in the draft because of 2 inches of height. Does the guy show up on tape? Did he do well at the senior bowl against good competition? Hell yes. But because TJ is has prototype size he's a better pick at 16/17. The question is do you use such a high pick on TJ who you suspect is gonna be a 1tech? Who knows, I'd rather use that pick on someone who is disruptive, and find that 1tech later in the draft. It's gonna be fun regardless, I'm just waiting for Jerry to draft a TE with that pck. Outsmart everyone.

Maybe they project Donald because of height and weight, and NFL teams and scouts knowing that donald isnt going to have that production in the NFL? Theres a big difference between the weaker of the 2 divisions in the ACC and NFL competition? And if ur referring to the Draft show guys, they love Donald. But they also see the the same thing as NFL teams do. Donald isnt going to be a RD1 pick.

I can see them seriously going safety and then going d line in second. Some guys could plummet.

I'd seriously consider this. Maybe 3 sure-fire safety starters in this draft while Dallas can use any of about 25 DL for at least depth.

Option 1 IMHO is trading down. Get value but also lock up one spot for a decade like you did with TFred.
That could be Donald or Dix or Pryor and I'd be happy with any of those 3.

In one mock I was sitting at 17 and GB offered me 21 and 21 of round 2 for the spot then they moved up to take Jernigan....
I took Dix at 21.

In round 2 I got Aaron Donald and RaShede Hageman....

Donald will not get past the Falcons in RD2.

IMO out of the 2 Dix would be a bad pick. The guy is going to get torched in the nfl. Manziel ate him alive.

Given we allowed the 6th-most rushing yards last year and were pretty porous up the middle despite Hatcher's nice season, would be nice if we emulated what CAR did last draft using two high picks on DT's. Being set up the middle for years would be awesome.

Sorry, I don't see Crawford as a 3 tech. Doesn't seem like a pass-rushing, up the field kind of guy. I think he'd be a better 1 tech.

Lol, I'm willing to bet he'll go in round 1. Hopefully to cowboys but he will. And The Draft Show guys sound like they'd pick him in rd1. Personally I'd trade down and get an extra pick.

My dream would be RD1 trade down getting Donald, RD2 Terrence Brooks, RD3 Dominique Easley, Kareem Martin. Def fixed.

Donald and Easley teams with Crawford and Bass, watch out. Brooks starting FS and Martin rotating with Selvie. Nice rotation.

That's my dream scenario, minus Martin. I don't see a lot of pass rushing skill in his game. A lot of his sacks I saw were QB's who got flushed to his area. I realize the history with drafting hurt guys but I still want Easley. There's plenty of guys one this team who are hurt all the time but were injury free in college. Your scenario is right on track with mine.
