This team in my opinion is getting worse day by day .we are subtracting without adding and to see our playmakers last year on another team hurts right now ..

I love hatcher on the Commanders. It was his last contract of his career and now he is ready to just sit out and get paid. Something about 32 year old that have 1 great year so happens to be contract year.

I just feel that we keep signing all these back ups n rotational guys ..that have nothing to show for it really is depressing to me to see this happen to this franchise and it seems it just getting worse n worse I..I really want the better for this team but I don't see nothing happening . It just seems the front office is ok with being 8-8 again and again and again and

It's very early in the off season and the draft is yet to happen. Yes on paper may seem to be getting worse. But also those players not here anymore, how much have they truly contributed the past few years.
Other than Hatcher last year, but then again, spencer only had one good year too. Ware has been non existent when we really needed a game drive saving sack. I can only recall a few times over the past 3 years. Austin was a detriment to the offense too. How many game changing catches has he made. Probably more than Ware had sacks, but not that many. When we needed him, he was on the sidelines.

People think much more highly of Ware and Hatcher than I do. I don't think we'll see a tangible difference with them gone.

you do realize that is a lot of what seattle does now, right? you cant name anyone beyond sherman on their defense...they keep fresh legs on the field.

yes, it is a tough pill to swallow but a necessary one. this is direct result of a lot of bad decisions on drafting and FA contracts and some badluck. paying 10 million to spencer last year and getting nothing in return. paying a big contract to rat and getting nothing in return. giving a huge contract to ware and he has battled injuries for he past 2 or three years. missing out on Claiborne who is in his last stance on showing why he was worth the 6th pick. and its the continuation of dominos falling from previous years for bad drafts in 2009, 2008, giving up so much for roy Williams etc. its a none stop cycle.

I am assuming and hoping the players signed are not intended to be starters, but rotational and back up, which in that case is better than off the street players we had last year.

sure, but, i think we fool ourselves thinking we need big namers with big contracts drafted in the first 2 rounds. Seattle has shown you can be a POWERHOUSE without any of the aforementioned.

Stop making sense. We are getting worse. High school talent. 3-13 or even 3-15 is possible, I think. Given what I've read on here

Agreed.

Dallas showed that in the 90's without you know who evaluating talent.

This is nothing new.

FTR - I'm anti-big name forthe most part.

Ware will rebound nicely this year, I think, especially being back in the 3-4.
But for the Cowboys, if you look only at last season's defense, what have we subtracted? No insult to Ware, but any couple of JAGs in tandem could match his contribution.

On the other hand, we are back to looking for a 3-tech after the Hatcher subtraction. I think that will happen in free agency or the draft. Our defense will be better than last year...I know that's not saying much. And we will be in better position for next year's free agency when all teams have a higher cap as well.
