That would be nice.

McClain doesn't have the same straight line speed that Urlacher had coming out of college, where he was actually a safety. However, McClain is even more physical than Brian was and plays stronger. I'm telling you, Rolando is a rock in the middle. That guy will just blow you up and not think twice about it.

I'd love to have that kind of guy roaming the middle. The offense will definitely have their head's on a swivel, that's for sure.

They had the same 10-yard time with Urlacher being a little faster in the forty (4.59 vs 4.68); however, I don't see McClain as one of those that would have practiced the forty prior to the draft.

When I say Urlacher I hope for clogging the passing lanes as well. He was fantastic at that. If Ro can do that, look out! Outside of that I'm not sold on Wilber. Give me right now Ro, Hollo, and Carter and let's roll. ;)

I read ya.

He's swapping reps with Anthony Hitchens. Which is the football equivalent of a chubby chick standing next to a fattie.

LOL good one. At least no one is calling our Oline fat and out of shape anymore - which is a good thing.

I just want to see him put Shady out for the season with one nasty hit. Bye Bye Eagles.

Just realized that he is sporting Jordan's 55. You know how Jerry is with his legacy numbers. Like everyone else I am hopeful but can't blame anyone for being excited about McClain's potential to pan out big for us. Far as I am concerned, McClain was another first round pick for us and my expectations, starter, are the same as for Martin.

Outside of Nick Saban, JG might be the best thing that happened to McClain and I barely praise that guy if at all.

McClain compared the 2 today when reporters were asking him questions. A lot of doubters are going to wish they'd seen the light sooner.

Just wondering, but is he under contract for one year or did he have more time left on his deal when we traded for him? I'm curious because Dallas seems to be giving out two years deals rather than one year deals lately, just in case they have good seasons.

JG & the staff is extremely high on him. He's barely getting warmed up and already appears to be on an inside track to be our MLB.

He might be a nice comeback story. But we're still building our defense from people off the street.

Looks like Marinelli likes what he sees and will give him every opportunity to become our game 1 starter:
He’s smart and he’s football aware,” Marinelli said. “I think he has a real passion to play football, a real passion. He plays fast. We’re just going to keep coaching these guys, keep him in the mix, keep guys mixed up in there, give everybody as many opportunities as we can and see who surfaces.”

Let's be honest, the competition McClain is facing isn't exactly Mike Singletary/Ray Lewis caliber.

As long he isn't A. Injured or B. Disinterested, McClain should win the starter's job.

Agreed. I like the fact that it appears Marinelli and JG are impressed with how much information he's quickly absorbing that he is translating onto the field through his play. Marinelli says he's playing fast and with passion. That tells me Marinelli is getting through to him mentally - which is the biggest question we all have for him. Talent was never the issue.

Cowboys may have stolen a top 5 MLB (talent-wise) for peanuts. Players love playing for Marinelli. Here's hoping he does too.

That's the way I'm seeing it too Pete. Certainly when it comes to the defense the Cowboys need a little good luck to fall their way when it comes to uncovering a needle or two in the haystack.

For what though? Anything that's gone wrong in his career has been 100% his fault. The guy is/was (maybe he's changed) not a good person.
I missed a pool shot one time and I swore. My Mom said, "What are you swearing for? It went right where you aimed it." That was entirely true and not the least bit comforting. I think the fact that he went back to school to work on his degree and to be around Saban indicates there is a change. He was suspended the last 3 games of his Raiders career because he and Dennis Allen did not see eye to eye. I'm not a Raiders fan, but I was always a fan of this kid at Bama. For what? Because I want to see a good football player come back to what I thought he could be. What you said is entirely true and not the least bit comforting, but everything I am reading or hearing about this kid since we acquired him, has been.

In pool as it is in football, you shake the past off and refocus. Not all winning is done consecutively or at the same place.

'All sound and fury signifying nothing'

until it shows up in more wins then losses the process and every other 'catch' phrase means nothing.

Colombo was a reclamation project that everyone else gave up on except BP. We got 4 good years out of him-and his attitude really contributed as well. McClain is young enough and without a significant injury history that we might get 5-7 years from him.
