We have a second year player and a rookie on that line. And a long time starter who was out. It's quite possible the coaches did what they could to prepare them but they just didn't execute well. We'll see how they perform next week against another team that loves to blitz. Maybe even more so than Washington.

It's a weird feeling for me this morning. On the one hand, 6-2 isn't a bad place to be, so that should make me content. On the other hand, I feel like Dallas needs to win as many of these games as they're in down to the last minute as they possibly can, because whether we like it or not, we know that nearly the past 2 decades have been rough come December. If they can win these next 2, I'll feel much better about the way things could shake out.

Most people didn't expect us to have 6 wins in 16 games, 6 wins in 8 games is good, our loses were just ones where we beat ourselves for the most part so it makes it worse.

Not prepared for a team doing the same thing against us they've been doing for 3 years now.

That's what I'm having trouble with. We've seen Haslett do this twice a year to us, and yet we still have no answers. It seems that the Giants and Eagles figured out his schemes years ago and probably the only reason he still has a job is because he does this to the Cowboys offense every game.

I just don't see any quick blitz beating plays in Garrett's/Linehan's offense. The blueprint is out there now and we better fix it quick or this season could go bad very quickly.

I remember also having this feeling in the mid to late 1990's when nearly every team started killing Aikman with the zone blitz. It was the beginning of the end for that great offense also. The Coryell passing scheme does not use a traditional screen pass and attempts to beat blitzes with deeper throws provided the blitz is picked up by the running back or tight end.

I believe that we need to get Dunbar in more on third downs and at least try to get him the ball in space a quickly as possible. It may be our only hope because Romo does not have the arm strength these days to hit the big play down field with multiple blitzers coming free.

Yeah, I don't subscribe to the thought of my team only beats itself when it loses, but I get you're point, which is why I say I have a weird feeling. What I dread is that the wheels start to come off, they go 9-7, and miss the playoffs. If they win these next 2, I don't think that will happen. If they don't, I think the door is open for that possibility, which will still feel a little like a kick i the gut after a 6-1 start.

This Washington team is bad and they just exposed the Boys for what they are, rest of the season is going to be bad

A team just showing the blitz caused our qb to audible. Probably out of a lot of running plays resulting in and unbalanced run/pass ratio. It probably had to do with the Commanders winning the time of possession.

Been relaxed since 11:45 EST last night.

Not going to freak out over one game. If anything, I'm relieved that Romo isn't seriously injured.

I'm still waiting for the other foot to drop on that. I hope it nothing serious once he gets checked out further.

I have to agree with this.

This is what happens when you play a desperate team, who is not scared to lose anything. They took chances other teams were scared to take. 0 Coverage, blitz, and leave Dez all alone.

We failed to change our protection, and take advantage of dez 1 on 1.

This is why I say we are nothing without Dez. We let Dez walk........ O-line/Murray or not, this is how teams will respect us game in game out. They will play 0, blitz the run/Romo, and force him to throw it to Williams/Harris. Recipe for disaster.

We can now make the proper adjustments, and take advantage of a few deep balls with Dez when this happens, and burn a few teams.

Until then, we got exposed.

Lots of probablys in your post. You have zero idea if that is true.

I think the Dolphins exposed to the Patriots and the Patriots were over in week 4. Division games are just like this sometimes, calm down. A bad team doesn't win 6 games in a row, a bad team doesn't make this many mistakes and still have a chance to win the game.

Thing is you don't want to flip out over games like this, but you want to be careful, because these kind of losses have come to bite us at the end of the season before. If we had one a game here or a game there, we wouldn't be playing a divisional rival for a chance in the playoffs.

A lot of scared, pessimistic folks exist on this forum....... after one game? just fall off the wagon already.... just fall off... travels faster without the extra weight.
