I guarantee that Randal is not on this team this time next week..

he might not make it to Sunday. We have Ryan Williams, who many here thought was better in preseason, waiting in the wings. Not to mention he's a former Cardinal who might want to show them what they're missing.

He's probably continuing the topic of his screw-up compared to Dez's issue with his mother. He's pulling a Tashard Choice right in front of our eyes.
What stinks, though, is that Williams can tote the rock, but you definitely don't want him picking up blitzes for a back-sore Tony Romo against the blitzingest defense in the league this week. Nor can you have Dunbar handle it. If you elevate Williams, you're committing to playing Murray all day.

Not on all running downs. Williams can spell him there. Might make us predictable though

Somebody help me get this story straight because I am confused.

What I understand is There is a video out there of Randle saying Dez and Brent did worse things than he did.
Randle then proceeds to say this exact thing during practice and Witten told him to shut it up??

Is this fool crazy?

here is what I've been able to piece together:

Randle said the dumb stuff on the police tape. Dez heard it last night and today during practice, he confronted Randle about it.

Instead of Randle saying "my bad" like he probably should have, he mouthed off back at Dez.

Then, Witten heard Randle saying something back to Dez, so Witten told him to shut up, not another ****ing word.

IMO, Randle didn't re-say the stuff today. He only smarted off back to Dez.

That's my two cents worth.

Better to remain silent, and be thought an idiot, than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt.

Apparently Joseph Randle never heard this axiom.

Yeah, but remember, this is in the context of what's going to happen to him after the charge. This is not him just berating a teammate. It's him comparing offenses. I'd say that goes a long way towards mitigating the character concern here. (note, I'm not excusing the shoplifting, just his commentary while in the police station). Dez did hit his mother. Brent did crash his car and his teammate died. Randle's not saying anything that's not true and not related to his own current situation.

You bring up some fair points. I am concerned that it is just a part of a larger pattern of behavior with this guy though. But yes, by itself, probably something they can work around pretty easily.

Randle is costing himself money.......

It's the same things as Orton and Ratliff and Bennett have all done..

It's becuz Randle is stuck behind Murray and has no future here except as his carrier backup.

He wants off the team so on to get a chance to play.

Players have figured out how to do this under Garrett.

Randle is not one of Garrett's Right Guys.

I say cut him.

That's pretty much what i've gained from it. People have been rather harsh on Randle on here. He's a man at the end of the day. If anyone tells me to shut up i'm gonna mouth back as well. Everyone handles that situation differently.

I wasn't there so this is a assumption on my part but if Randle and Dez were going back and forth I wonder why didn't Witten tell Dez anything? Its just unfortunate. I'm not as down on Randle as everyone else is. I think he made one of the dumbest mistakes in his life that day and just when you think its over it creeps right back up.

Other than our divison games, this is posibly the biggest game of the season. They essentially go up on us by two games if they win. If we win, we own the tie-breaker.

But if Romo is not ready, I'd prefer a healthy Weeden for a week.

This game will have a significant impact on playoff seedings. If we lose, we probably can kiss homefield advantage goodbye in the playoffs..................of course our homefield sucks so maybe its not that big of an issue really.

He's not justifying. He's putting it into context when he didn't know there was a camera on him. He's right that his offense is relatively minor relative to what some of his teammates have done. Dez is a superstar, but Brent's a player on more or less the same footing as Randle. It's relevant that both of those players are playing after much more serious incidents.

It was minor and he should have treated it as such. A minor offense should have been treated like this - "sorry officer, I made a very dumb mistake. I apologize for what I did. "

He should not have mentioned any of his teammates or tried to compare his offense with what the others have done on the team. It was plain stupid. He should just be man enough to say sorry, it was dumb. Thats how you handle a minor offense.

Comparing your crimes with what Bryant and Brent did is not the right way to handle it. In fact, it made his offense look even more serious when he mentioned those other crimes his teammates did.

Randle is an idiot, plain and simple...he made a mistake, pay for it....but, he takes shots at Dez and Brent? he was saying that brent was in the locker room? well so will you be you moron!! this guy has zero brain cells...zero....he needs to on the non-active list...I would never just cut him and give him a chance to play elsewhere, whatever it takes to send a message to this buffoon and any other disgruntled cowboys....NO MORE CRY BABIES whining their way out of dallas....

my God, someone in this organization needs to teach these little cry-babies about professionalism....

I'm all for Randle being cut, now. Your problems are your problems to deal with. Don't bring up other people and their problems to get your way out of your issues. That's Being a Man 101. And this is a man's league, so Randle can go back to the bush leagues.

Yea, its total bush league to bring up what somebody else did to try to minimize your transgressions.

Maybe Witten told both of them to move on,...in a tone that only the immediate folks could hear. Dez may have walked off then, because you don't see him in any pics around Witten and Randle. And when Randle decided he wanted to get another word in, Witten finished him off.

But in the grand scheme of things, Randle was in the wrong. Period. Wrong for trying to steal. Wrong for throwing his teammates under the bus. Hell, he wasn't even on the team when the Josh Brent incident went down. Jerry Brown is still known to many of the guys on the team. Him suggesting anything related to that incident is just insensitive.

Whatever we feel about Dez, I think he was right for addressing it. At this point, Randle should've just said, "My bad" and been done with it. Saying anything other than that got him embarrassed yet again. His immaturity is gonna be his downfall if he doesn't get it together.

I believe that Asthma is correct. Dez confronted Randle on the field and Randle babbled back, but I don't think Randle repeated anything about Dez and his Mom on the practice field.

Witten told Randle not to say anything else about "it", which I believe means that Witten was telling Randle to avoid talking about either the arrest or the video.
