The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports the Steelers have agreed to mutually part ways with DC Dick LeBeau.
LeBeau, 77, had been the Steelers' defensive coordinator since 2004. His defenses have dropped in recent years, with Pittsburgh allowing 353 total yards and ranking near the bottom of the league in both sacks (33) and interceptions (11) this past season. LeBeau is not expected to retireand could draw interest from teams now that he's available. LB coach Keith Butler is an in-house candidate to replace LeBeau. Jan 10 - 4:49 PM

Somewhere Danny Snyder is rubbing his hands together and grinning while thinking "Yess...Wade Phillips and Dick LeBeau, Co-Defensive coordinators."

And this marks the exposing of Mike Tomlin as an overated head coach and a lull for the Steelers. This is akin to the Eagles losing Jim Johnson....

Winning his division this season. Getting to two SB's and winning one.

Yeah overrated.

Clearly my point flew right over your head. All of those things do not happen without Lebeau.....

It didn't fly over my head. It's the same thing I think about people saying things of the like about Garrett. He is a coordinator and not HC material.

And I agree with that in certain situations. I don't believe that Marinelli and Linehan are on the same level as Lebeau. His defensive schemes have made their drafting look better than it is and won them a lot of games they shouldn't have.

My best example is the Eagles STILL trying to replace Jim Johnson after he left...

I just don't feel that Tomlin brings much to the table.

As much as I hate the Steelers, LeBeau did some incredible things with the Steelers' D. What did they go, like 2 seasons without a rusher going over 100 yards on them? Incredible.
