How did you react when they overturned the Dez catch?

I'd say that was a ballsey play, but what do I know.

It was. But, that's what I want from this team....play to win. Instead of 'playing not to lose.'

We were down by 5 points. The Packers were stacking the box. I'm sure they were playing for the run and the short passes. Meanwhile we have Dez 1-on-1 with their cornerback.

We played that play by basically stating that if the Packers gave us the look we wanted, if we can make that play without having to do anything out of the ordinary. Dez makes that catch all of the time, particularly in practice. Romo can make that throw.

I *hate* playing for worst case scenarios. You don't get better by playing for worst case scenarios and playing 'not to lose.'

As much as I don't like the Patriots, that is how they play the game. They don't play safe. If the play is there, they take it. If you don't execute, then what is to say that if you played it safe that you would have executed that play as well? We played like winners out there. The scoreboard doesn't tell that. And if we continue to play like winners, we'll win these games.

After Bailey's missed FG last week, I punched a hole in the wall of my game room. This week, I restrained myself.

My honey didn't even react when I grabbed a blanket off the couch and threw it. Usually, that's a felony in our house.

I'm still mad. And I feel depressed. By the way, this is my first post. I'm glad I found all of you.

Am I the only one who immediately thought it would be overturned?

Felt realllll bad, but had the feeling right away it wouldn't count.

Nope I called the overturn in the chat room as soon as I saw a replay. But that was because I felt payback for last week.

After they overturned the catch first thing I thought was "that could be over for us" of course I was hoping while they showed replays it would stand but that gut feeling was they likely were going to

I DID cry.

I had cried earlier, after the Cobb call, Cocoa. I laid my head on the couch pillow, as I watched Aaron march his team down the field, knowing our D was exhausted and shocked, and unable to stop them. Tears just fell out of my eyes unchecked, knowing how screwed our team just got by the refs. I didn't even care that I was crying. It was the first time that I remember crying, really crying over a Cowboys game in decades. But, I was so mad after the Dez overturn crying was the last thing I could do. I was just PISSED OFF then! I shocked my house, yelling and cussing, scared the crap out of babies (my dog and cat), and realized I needed to calm down when I looked at my husband and thought he was gonna have a heart attack. lol. I did cry some more a few minutes ago, I started drinking about 20 minutes ago, and I think that is helping relieve some steam. lol

Well, great. I just made myself cry again. I think I am going to cry all night over this. Our guys played so hard, no they weren't perfect and made some mistakes, but I think that they did do enough to win this game, had Dez not been screwed out of his beautiful catch. I know in my heart that the next play was gonna be Murray punching it in for TD. And we were going to win. No way our D would have let us lose after that. You know, if we had lost fair and square, I could take it, but to have our victory snatched away by the officials is more than I can swallow. I don't care about the stupid rule either. It needs to be wiped off the frikking books. The rule sucks, no matter what team it is used on, it is unjustified and unfair, and like another poster said somewhere, it is taking the joy from the fans. The league is killing it's own sport.:(

My wife was worried about me for a bit.

I almost...almost broke our coffee table...restrained myself...then looked at the wall...made a fist..

then i restrained myself again.

i'm very proud of myself... no mess to clean up ...no furniture destroyed.

not sure that would of been the case twenty years ago.

I saw it as it happened live. I said oh no.

I knew they would overturn it.

Had zero doubt.

I've been busy sulking. The catch call was horrible. The game was a heart-breaker and it was topped off by having to listen to Buck deify Aaron Rodgers.

The second I saw the ball move just a tad (live) I knew it would be challenged and overturned. And I was pissed even before the flag was thrown. I just KNEW it would be overturned.

Apparently making a catch, taking 3 steps, switching the ball to your other hand, and reaching for the endzone doesn't constitute a "football move."

As an eagles fan, I was happy. However, if I were in the shoes of a cowboys fan I would probably have thrown my TV out the door

The calvin johnson rule is an absolute joke, and had dez not had the playmaking abilities he possesses he wouldn't even have thought of trying to stretch that catch into the endzone, but then again he wouldn't have caught the ball in the first place if he wasn't a monster.

Exactly what I was thinking. The Cowboys would've gotten SOOO much heat if this didn't get overturned. Of course it was a catch, but just too good to be true. Makes you wonder if the refs really based this call on what happened last week with the PI call. Yeah, the refs screwed up last week... but two wrongs don't make a right.

Actually I think most people were surprised at the overturn. Some of them were happy, but still surprised.

Well, welcome to our home, Miguelitomama. I hope you like it here. This is a home, a family. Welcome to la familia de CowboysZone!:)

Oh, Miguelito, my heart broke for Dez. They showed him sitting on the bench, head covered in a towel and lowered. And then when it was all over, he walked to the locker room with the towel still over his head. I have never that baby so crushed. Heartbreaking. :(

I sat there with my mouth wide open after saying "Oh God" to myself. I felt so bad for Dez. He so wants to be appreciated like some of the other great receivers in the league, but something always gets in the way, a finger, a flag, a bad call, always something. I hope we re-sign him and he goes on to make many, many more great plays for us.

oh he will ..

he is straight up beast.

The answers in this thread I think tell an interesting story about each posters personality as a Dallas Cowboys fan. Some are super emotional, some are believers in league conspiracies (lack of a better word), some pessimistic, some very technical etc. None of that is a value judgment on anyone. Just interesting to me.

The game certainly has its impact on me emotionally but I consciously try to avoid the highs so that I can also avoid the extreme lows. I would not celebrate that catch until I knew it was upheld. Dampens the emotional crash. :)
