I don't think any one is going to argue that, just the name of the RB.

Making Demarco the highest paid RB in the league after years of getting hurt and having a huge year in a contract year would be a Jerry move.

Do the smart thing and get the better player at a better value.. If the money is = then bring back Murray.

Also, even if Petersons physical ability diminishes because he turns 30 he will still be the best physical talent at that position by a lot.

Having the last 2 years off will keep him as one of the best RB's in the league for another 3 years at least.

The rule of 30 just doesn't apply to him imo because he is the most physically gifted player to ever play that position.

Anyone that thinks Peterson is old and done hasn't been paying attention. AP until he proves otherwise is hands down the best RB in the NFL right now. The only thing Murray and him have in common is the school they both attended. Peterson would have averaged 200 yds a game with the way this line blocked last year.

Kinda hard to pay attention to his running for at least a year or so.

We all know that Jerry has wanted AP for years. He's always kicked himself for passing on Randy Moss, and after giving in to Stephen w/ Martin over Manziel last year, I think that if there's a way to get him to Dallas, Jerry's going to put his "I'm the owner" foot down and get his way.

I am on the bring AP aboard side. They will be so explosive, won't be a seat to be had by an opposing team at AT&T Stadium and him and Tony can close out their careers as winners of two SBs! (if not more)

I don't get the number of fans salivating about the prospects of signing Peterson. That would mean we gaffed off Murray who is younger and home grown. How do you think the rest of the team is going to perceive that? I don't think very favorably. It would be a typical Jerry move from years past. I hope he's still past that kind of reckless behavior and doesn't fall back on his clueless fan like actions of the past.

Signing Murray to a long term would be typical Reckless Jerry Jones behavior

I think so too. I'd even go to $5 million and consider that fair.

So if he's demanding more than that, you're letting him go too, right?

Yes. I think we can have an effective running game without him or AP. Murray's running style is similar to Barbers. Those types just don't last long in the NFL. When Emmitt was playing, you never saw him take a hit. He had a knack for avoiding the big hits. Murray looks for contact. It's great while he can do it, but it will eventually catch up to him.

I want a dominating running game again, like we had last year, not simply 'effective'. I've seen recent comments from Jerry Jones talking about the numbers that Barber and Murray put up in years' past. Don't care, don't want. Not equal to me. I hope it's just a negotiating tactic and not something he truly believes.

If I'm in charge, I either have to have Murray back, sign Peterson, or draft Todd Gurley at #27 (though there's no guarantee he gets there), and not Gordon! No committee stuff, no lying to myself and trying to 'get by' and weaken the best part of my 12-4 team.
