It's funny those rumors fly outside of Tampa whereas here in Tampa it's a resounding heck no... No way the Bucs give up a franchise QB in draft for an aging albeit solid qb who has 2 maybe 3 years left .. A couple fans on local radio shows talk about it but it's not going to happen

Winston has bust written all over him.

He's about as mature as Johnny Football.

It won't be because of ability.... that guys ability to sling the rock is top notch..
you must expect him to mess up off the field... which is possible...
but I think he will be alright.... as long as you don't get him, Johnny, and Big Ben in the same room...

I find it hard to believe that NO would trade Brees to a division rival, but it's been a strange first day of FA...

yeah, kinda why i think the whole story is bogus. i havent heard a word about the rumor anywhere on the major shows

I don't think he's mature enough to stay out of trouble.

To me Drew is an "elite" QB. I'd take him in a NY second but not sure Tampa will.

Drew is a fantastic QB, but no way do you give up the number 1 for him at this point in his career.

at this stage of his career, that might be appropriate ..
he's still good, but no longer elite in my opinion.

Was it the fact that he led the league in passing yards, his over 69% completion percentage, or 33 tds that tipped you off to his serious decline?

TB has some good pieces and will add with draft probably (ie rb, oline). But why trade further growth for future in getting a young promising qb for an older one with a few years left. And wasn't issue stated that highly priced McCown was unsuccessful because of line? So that means trade for similar age qb with even bigger pricetag who is slightly more mobile to also get hurt behind that line? That makes no sense.

Honestly....If Tampa Bay were to make that deal.....It might be the worst trade in NFL history.

Brees and 2 #1's for Winston

You just can't make this stuff up.

Saint's would be in full rebuild mode.

Tampa taking on all that money.....and basically renting Brees for 2 years...then they are back to square one looking for a QB. That is so bad that i'd like to see it happen. It would be a train wreck of major proportions. :flagwave:

Ha ha - that line reminds me of the movie The Perfect Storm...

"...It would be a disaster of epic proportions...it would be...the Perfect Storm."

In one of the craziest days in the NFL of recent memory, things may not be done yet. The Saints have already traded one of their biggest stars, sending Jimmy Graham to Seattle, now they may send Drew Brees out of town as well.

Things first started swirling immediately after the Graham trade. Armed with a pair of first round picks and apparently in rebuilding mode, the speculation was unavoidable.

By the way, for what it's worth, the Saints met with Jameis Winston at the combine. The Saints now have two first-round picks. That is all.

Graham was a shocker. Brees head out?
Do you supposed the Saints are looking to implode the team and start rebuilding. If teu do let Brees go that would be a logical concussion.

If it is true that they are shopping Brees...than what someone said earlier sounds correct...fire sale.

I wouldn't do it if I were Tampa Bay. Too old. You have a chance to groom your QB for the next decade. That would interest me more.

They have Glennon already, who has been better than most QB's in his first two years in the league. Teams tried to trade for Glennon early on and the Bucs would not trade him....there may be some teeth to this rumor. Two or three years with Brees, then Glennon fully developed. Lovie will only be around three years anyway, more than likely.

Unfortunately it often ends up in the hands of opponents.

He had a monster freshman year, no doubt. But last year was decidedly average. 24 TDs against 17 INTs in college is not a recipe for a franchise NFL QB.

What do you mean...This IS the NFL zone?

/walks away whistling.

what are you whistling? I hope it is not "Ray-O" the flip side of "Day-O" (the bannanna boat song). Daylight come and me wanto go home. That tune always pop in my mind this time of year. might be spring approaching and the bannanna harvest in its prime.
Another good song to whistle is "Sunshine Lollipops and Rainbows" it is always a feel-good song.
