Thanks for the explanation. And I agree. That's why I don't get all riled up when ESPN or some other commentator says something bad about the Cowboys. It's purely ratings fodder. They know that we're popular, and the way to stir up Cowboys Nation is to say something controversial. We're like wasps after their nests is disturbed.

Jerry is much more astute an observer and decision maker, that much of the media and even many Cowboys fans give him credit. He has boldly walked an honest journey at the head of the Cowboys, and I am glad that sees depth and potentials that can be directions for his team. For the journey alone, this fan has to give a hooah...but even wishful thinking can't create enough cash flow to procure both a future and Peterson now.

I try not to get riled up, but I also remember and let them know what frauds they are. Hey, they get upset when I point out their lack of credibility. If you want to be taken as a credible and serious journalist...then act like one. That's my theory anyway.

Since when is Adrian Peterson injury prone?

Dude tore his ACL and rushed for 2000 yards 6 months later.................he has only missed more than 2 games in a season twice during his entire career (not counting last season since that was not due to injury).

As far as DeMarco goes, the length of the Eagles contract was more worrisome for me. Obviously, they can cut him before the end of the contract, but that still goes into the cap hits and is dead money.

And DeMarco did surpass the 370+ carry mark. I tend to believe that in the day of modern medicine and training that a tailback could come back and have a strong season, but I would seriously worry about the years after that. Let's say DeMarco has a nice season and gains 1,200 yards for the Eagles, but then falls off the earth after 2015 and can't get over 1,000 yards rushing...that's a really bum deal for Eagles.

I think in the end of all of this, Jay Ratliff may end up being the MVP for this organization because I think he finally convinced Jerry that giving out those big contracts to veterans is often problematic and that we are better off getting the best coaching staff we can find and acquiring players thru the draft and UDFA and developing them at a cheaper price.

Technological hope is not a plan. If anything, modern genetics is showing us that some people are just prone to be injured. They have identified the genes that control the formation of our ligaments and joints. If a TT pair gives all of the good kind of amino acids but you have a GT or worse a GG that gives nothing but the less strong compenents then you are going to be genetically predisposed to injury. I also think the solutions that scientists are working on would violate competitive balance.

ok . . . I got carried away with mein emtions and Calgon soaps . . . I half to remember to not forget that Jerra, for all his foolishness half done very good things through the years. It is easy to criticize from mein airchair here at the center, all high-falutin wearing my Cowboys Snuggie (lime-green; they didn't half silver and blue). I just cannot get over surrendering our 1,800 yard rusher to . . . to . . . the Eagirls and thinking that somehow magically, we can replicate our RB preformance of last year. Running go with the air attack like peas and carrotts, like Ginger and Fred, like Ginger and Gilligan.

I feel like I am trapped in a Twilite Zone Episoda in which we seek to go to the Super Bowel with a defense that show no evidence of stepping it up a notch (dont gift me this Hardy bit; I will cheer when I see him play and make sad sacks of the QB), the loss of Murray and pretending that all this make us better. it do not.
Now I am all depressed and need a bottle off Dr. Thunder to get my sucrose levels up and maybe a taco and a piece of monkey bread to get me threw the day.

I'd drop Murray off at the airport myself as he wanted 8 mill a year from us.

And then I'd pick up AP from the airport as he only wanted 8 mil a year from us.

I agree to an extent. Signing AP doesn't mean we can't draft a rb. In my opinion long term success with the small window Romo has left is all fine and good. But if we can win a superbowl next season because of AP why not do it.

Plain and simply, that would take heart and team spirit out of a sport designed for just those two elements.

Unless we draft a RB at #1 and replace Murray's production..

I think the defense is still several players away from being dominant.

And I don't think replacing the Murray element is going to be that easy.

I know the belief that Grandma Mose's could gain a 1000 yrds for us behind our OL.

But I don't buy it.

We will need a workhorse preferably young RB to feed the ball to.

I look for us to take one early and then draft defense later.

The best defense we had last year was running the ball and eating clock.

If we don't shore that up early in the draft..

I think it will create a huge ripple and scramble offensively to the team.

We can not depart from our smashmouth identity.

Defense has been addressed with Hardy.

Isn't the Marine Corp a subordinate branch of the Navy?

I was in the Army and Marines. Army infantrymen are wussies.

And the Navy doesn't fight. They transport Marines to the fight and turn them loose.
