No need to defend yourself as your posts aren't worth reading. I've seen a lot of unrealistic predictions so far but that just comes with the territory of being on a COWBOYS message board. Do you really expect to see the opposite? This site has plenty of homers but there's good reason. A 12-4 season that included beating good teams, with a good foundation, building through trenches is plenty good reason to be excited.

Last year is all you can judge the team on so far. Preseason doesn't have any meaning and the starters didn't play much, if at all. If you're going to wait until the season ends to determine whether or not to be excited, then you're what they call a "bandwagon" fan.

Idk who you're trying to persuade. You? Me? Them? Because if that's the case your whole agenda is ****.

I never once said I'm not excited. But like a realistic person a new season brings new work. I'm glad we built on what we had however, we also have big questions. Especially at RB (last year's identity) and ST. Before I put on the anointing oil I want to see how we do? I mean does that mean I'm not positive? No. But it does mean I know how this league works. One year you can be great then something happens the next.

New season man. It's nice to live off what we did but now we have to see what one year did for us. If you know with your magical globe tell me.

dominate everything? go watch the regular season games from the early 90's. its far from a complete domination from game to game. they grinded out their games. if they dominated it was in the 4th quarter. go look at the scores. how many super bowls have the patriots won. i never thought of any of their teams as dominate and it reflects on how close their super wins have been. now in the salary cap era there are no teams that dominate from the first snap till the whistle blows at the end of the game especially in all three phases. i think you are being highly unrealistic.

I think the point I'm making has more to do about giving our best effort from the start and not relying on the offense to carry us. Thought that was clear. Backup qbs should not be doing that to us. I mean you expect Weeden to do that if needed? Like I keep saying I like what we did but that's one year. We've got to keep it going. In a year that we weren't even expected to win 6. It doesnt get any easier. I'm sure it got a lot harder.

This isn't college there are no style point wins in the nfl. Idc if we win a superbowl by 1 point or 35 points, we still won! Even if you watch patriots or seahawks or any team that has won recently, all of them have wins against lesser teams that were ugly grind out, come from behind wins against "scrub" teams. The thing that separates contenders from pretenders is finding a way to get the win in the end, even when you're playing an ugly game.

I'd l Ike to go back to my previous posts and state that I understand a W is always nice. Also how I ended my other posts, it doesn't get any easier being a Cowboy coming in to the season as prime players for the SB.

We need to take care of business even more so than we did last year. I don't think it's wrong for me to hope that we can put away teams that should be dealt with handily. Now we have a defense that should be revamped and an offense (minus the RB) with the season they had. We should expect even better, no? Well I am.

Oh and don't get me wrong. I understand that a bad Giants team, patriots team without brady, or even a 3rd stringer team can give us a fight. However, you don't have a disgusting feeling when that happens? Maybe with all the talk of improving on both sides of the ball, I shouldn't think we have another level to get up to. Last year it was because of the defense. What's the excuse this year?

I understand that we would want to put lesser teams away and I hope we are able to as well. The point I'm making though is that no matter how good your team is, you're not gonna blow out every lesser team that you play. NOBODY is doing that. You just want the win. The pats won the superbowl last year, what's their excuse for not blowing out every lesser team? They still got the wins tho, which is all that's important. This team used to lose those games so no I don't feel sick that they don't always have stylish wins against scrubs. Because they still win.

Wins are important. And that's where I'm coming from when I say things aren't going to get any easier for us. So my expectations for a 12-4 team who has equipped both sides during the offseason should be the same? Last I checked, last year didn't get us over our SB slump. We still haven't won anything yet. We are in the right track so of course I want better. Every player and fan knows it. "A win is a win but there are things we need to clean up. " quote that on anyone who's ever won.

You know what, I have numerous different debates here with different posters. One got it in his head that I'm here to troll him. One reminds me how many and the last time we won a superbowl, now I'm here backing up my reason why I want better for my team?

Here it goes, no I'm not satisfied with 12-4. The reason why I know there is a hill we still need to climb and problems to deal with is because it is a new season and until we get that ring I don't think we should expect any less from our team. Especially with the talks of us being better than last year where we went 12-4. So no more talks of our offense carrying the team, no more excuses of our defense being horrible, none of that "Romo was injured." That crap has gone on way too long. Barring injuries, its fixed right? I want a damn superbowl win. Winning the superbowl makes it easier to say we got beat by colt mccoy. Why? Because we just won the damn superbowl. That's the kind of pride i want. We haven't done ****.

They think we have the same defense as last year. Because Scandrick is out, our secondary is still one of the worst in the league. Our defense will fall apart. Think that our rookies won't do anything. Gregory, BJones, DWilson. And because Hardy/McClain are suspended, our pash rush won't be effective. They keep believing their OL in preseason was a mirage and that they will get it together. And of course on offense, Romo is the same Romo that chokes every 4th quarter and with no Murray, he will have to throw more meaning picks.

Boy, do they have another thing comin'.

I get what you're saying. I think the infusion of talent (especially after Game 4) will help out in the opposing, backup QB department.
This team just didn't have a ton of defensive talent out on the field the past several years.

Let's hope fortune favors this team with few injuries so this talent can actually play and get to said backup QB's.

4-4 actually. Cowboys beat an undefeated Commander team in 1991 - Commanders were 11-0. This was the Jimmy Johnson hit a gorilla with everything you got game.

I remember the week leading up to that game like it was last week. I can still taste the excitement I had when our team won that game.
I remember thinking Jimmy Johnson is a freaking GENIUS!!! at the time.

"Giants’ Landon Collins dares Tony Romo to pick on him"
http://boards.giants.com/showthread.php?62610-Giants’-Landon-Collins-dares-Tony-Romo-to-pick-on-him

- I really don't even think Romo gets up for much of anything. The guy is a wet towel personality wise and he generally chokes more as the stage gets larger. I like the fact that it's the 8:00 game and Collins is confident. If he hangs Dez out to dry over anywhere on the field he might lose him a couple weeks, I think that's what he's really saying. Collins is a hell of a hitter. I know Tony is going to get his numbers but I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Collins comes up big if Tony thinks that's his easy money.

- I hope the kid is confident, and then goes out there on sunday night and backs it up. Get in Dez's head..make Beasley think twice about coming over the middle.

- For a rookie who's NEVER played in a real NFL game, this is just freaking stupid. He'd better not miss a tackle or he's going to have the Cowboys laughing in his face.

"Giant will win and dominate throughout the opener"
http://www.scout.com/nfl/giants/for...t-will-win-and-dominate-throughout-the-opener

- We’ve been hearing about how great The Cowboy’s draft was “Cowboys get three no.1’s “ We’ve been wringing our hands about the free players they got “Cowboys get Hardy and Collins without spending a pick”.

Well that’s all about as relevant as Donald Trumph’s presidential bid because, underneath the glitter, there’s worms and this draft has huge bust potential and not for the type of bust that pillowy either.

If we’re always hearing about addition by subtraction; The Cowboys are employing subtraction by subtraction.

Murray, Harris, Scandrick, Cartier, Anthony Spencer were a big part of this team and they are gone, sayonara, Hasta la Vista. Hardy and Renaldo McCain are out with suspensions and that’s really important.

Their draft is going to turn out to be as big a disappointment as Hillary’s emails. Gregory and Jones are not ready to be saviors and I don’t think they ever will be…. Flashy cheap paint jobs and workout warriors sailing into briny waters.

They’ve been trumpeting that Murray won’t be as good this year, but that’s not the issue. Murray was brilliant last year, he gave them TOP, he opened up things for Romo and meantime his replacements don’t look very good.

I watched our Williams kid last year plow up the back of an offensive lineman and confirmed….offensive lineman make a running back, but running backs can make offensive lineman look good too. Murray had brilliant vision, good wiggle and intuitions and the man broke tackles. This guy broke Jimmy Brown’s record for goodness sake, This guy was the piston that turned the flywheel, that made the locomotive go chug / chug.

Harris was the heart of special teams and they haven’t shown that they have “ordinary” for a replacement.

Scandrick was their best D Back by far and McCain and Cartier were very important while Spencer and Selvy contributed. Getting Lee back as a plus but he’s got so much china doll in him that he makes Beason look durable.

There is no other way you can look at it: The three units of The Cowboys are significantly weaker. And I have never believed in Romo without a great supporting cast and without that run game he doesn’t scare me.

Meantime, I’m not going to break it down here, but except for the front four I think every unit of the Giants has been significantly improved. I ached when I watched Andre Williams last year, he might be a highly specialized role player, but he had no vision , no intuition and no wiggle. A healty Jennings is going to tear them up, they have no one who can stay with Beckham and Vereen and OBJ together for a whole year???

I am not saying we’re a solid contender. I am saying that our offense will dominate their defense and our defense will do enough against a team that will miss Murray in particular and is significantly weaker throughout.

For now, dream a little dream giants fans... Sunday night will be the rude awakening that your team is way over their heads in Jerry's world versus the Cowboys.

They keep saying "Overrated O-Line". I guess they got that from Osi.
Sloppy Defense? Ok. They are in for a surprise.

I think NY knows who the better team is. In the last few seasons I've seen alot of trash talk from their players more than ever before.

I've no doubt the Cowboys are the better team but I'm always nervous playing a division opponent. Especially the Giants.
