Matt Cassel leash is gonna be short

I get Cassel is better then Weeden but it must make us feel really bad that we are resting our hopes on the 3rd string guy that Rex R evaluated during pre-season. Tyron Taylor and EJ Manuel beat him out...So history is on his side that he may win a game but is that what we expect this team to deliver? I think if we do lose the next 2 then you put KM in for 2 to see if he even deserves to be on the PS.

Seems like the smart money would be on both Weeden and Moore being cut when Romo is healthy.

I think Weeden has a better chance at getting cut when Romo is healthy then Moore ever taking a meaningful snap for the Cowboys.

On Sunday it was reported that MC was not the guy they wanted gone and that the coaching staff was not happy about it.

It is what it is bro...............Cassel needs to win 2 of the next 4 games for us to have any chance this year.

If we are sitting with just 2 or 3 wins when Romo comes back, its too little too late.

Saw the story... If true why wasn't that a story back on Sept 22nd or so? Easy for those to say that after a loosing with EJ....

It was reported when he was still in Buffalo that Cassell was ahead of EJ.

Seriously I can't see how Matt Cassel can screw up that big against the Giants. Those guys look real bad against the Eagles. With our D returning to full strength we should be able to win this game with 21 points. That's all we need 3 TD's.

It's a front office failure that it's come to this. They really have no clue what they're doing at QB. Romo was a Parcells creation. He's not around anymore to deal with life after Romo.

If you're not concerned about the future of this team you're not being honest about it.

Definitely worried about the future of the QB position. Obviously Romo won't play forever.

It's concerning because it very much feels like the FO is going about this in the exact same way they did with Troy Aikman.

Which is obviously to say that they did absolutely nothing.

That said Kellen Moore is not the answer here, and I'm willing to bet he's not the answer anywhere.

The Boise State love for this guy is just ridiculous.

Unless of course you actually believe it's mean people in the NFL just holding him back as the reasons why he can't get above 3rd string/practice squad QB.

My only concern is this Sunday....despite the Giants train wreck Monday night, I tend to see most wins and losses determined by which team has the better QB.

Romo beat Eli
Romo beat Bradford
Weeden lost to Matty Ice
Weeden lost to Brees
Weeden lost to Brady ...................... See the obvious pattern?

Now we have Cassel vs. Eli

If it's Cassel without Dez, I think Eli wins this matchup easily. Very seldom should one pick against the more established and talented QB---even if he doesn't dominate the whole game, he's the most likely QB to execute the decisive drive.
