My only concern is this Sunday....despite the Giants train wreck Monday night, I tend to see most wins and losses determined by which team has the better QB.

Romo beat Eli
Romo beat Bradford
Weeden lost to Matty Ice
Weeden lost to Brees
Weeden lost to Brady ...................... See the obvious pattern?

Now we have Cassel vs. Eli

If it's Cassel without Dez, I think Eli wins this matchup easily. Very seldom should one pick against the more established and talented QB---even if he doesn't dominate the whole game, he's the most likely QB to execute the decisive drive.

someone else that ignores the obvious. The D actually is more responsible for the NO loss then the O. And you can throw the coaching staff into it as well as regards other problems.

NO not only outplayed us when it mattered they out coached us as well. Same in the Atlanta game.

Now the fact that our QB quality was so much worse certainly was a factor. In this game Cassell is NOT that much worse then Eli. Not the gap you had between Weedon and Brady and Brees. Its not who has the better QB so much as how big the gap is.

Seems like the smart money would be on both Weeden and Moore being cut when Romo is healthy.

It's certainly possible if we need the roster spot. However, we carried a developmental QB last year so I don't see any reason Dallas wouldn't continue carrying Moore this year. It's possible since the Cowboys initially put him on the practice squad, though, that they feel they could easily get him through waivers, which would make it more palatable to use his roster spot elsewhere.

The point is that when our offense had chances against the pathetic NO defense, our QB was inferior. When Brees had his chance against our failing defense, he got the job done...I'm not ignoring defense. I'm just standing by my premise that on most Sundays when a solid starting QB plays against an inferior QB, the better QB wins far more often than he loses. It is the most important position in the game of professional football.

Eli has his own warts, but if you actually believe that Matt Cassel is in the same zip code as Eli Manning when it comes to playing QB in the NFL, then this discussion is clearly over. These two QBs can't and shouldn't ever be compared in any way....ridiculous.

LOL. Kellen Moore won't see a minute of action for this team.

With that logic why is he on the roster? You think Linehan has a thing for him and talked Jerry into wasting 100k?...
I mean they have J Showers on the PS so....

Because they didn't carry a developmental QB to start the season is the primary reason I'd say.

They didn't because they didn't have to. Last year, Vaughan showed enough that they didn't want to risk losing him before finding out if he was worth developing. No third QB proved that Dallas had to keep him, so that allowed the team to use the spot elsewhere.

The fact that the Cowboys were able to originally sign Moore to the practice squad could mean that they'll cut him when Romo comes back, but it doesn't necessarily mean that. It depends on if they need the roster spot for another position. What Dallas did at the start of the season doesn't affect what the Cowboys do now. It's all about position needs.

If Dallas cuts Weeden, then that opens a spot for Romo. Moore's spot could depend on whether Dallas wants to activate Green or Nzeocha, or if it gets another short-term injury at a position where it needs an extra body.

They had him as the backup while Cassel was learning the offense. He will likely go back to the practice squad soon.

The difference in his salary and the player he replaced the roster is minimal.
