Don't worry. Once Romo comes back, everything gets fixed. Defense gets better. Defense tackles better. Secondary covers better. DL doesn't get blown off the ball by mediocre OLs.

Passing routes get better. Game plans get better. The weather gets better.

It just all falls into place once Romo gets back.

Which is why he should hold out for 30 million a season!

Jason Garret relies on "execution" not scheme.

In other words, he needs great players to make his offense work.

Nate Newton who is usually all positive about JG even said we need to change the offense so that we are not solely dependent on players out executing the opponent.

He thinks we need to add few things help the players.

Which is incredible because Nate usually has the old school mindset and thinks football is played the same way today as it was in the 80's and 90's.

With the rules and Salary cap it is a different game and we will forever be behind the league until we adjust.

Also, last year, just because we could impose our will on the ground doesn't mean that it was a great system.

Our scheme still sucked last year but it didn't matter. Garrett sucked last year and it did not matter. When you can impose your will on the ground you can take the coaching and scheme element out of it.

I don't necessarily disagree with him, but a full season of Dez with Romo under center would probably be different.

Without a doubt, but did you ever imagine how good those two guys and their OL could be if they played in an offense like Brady, Breeze, Rodgers, Ryan or just about any NFL QB outside of Dallas enjoys? I've said it before and I'll say it again: I wholeheartedly believe that Romo playing for Payton, Daniels, McCarthy or either Shanahan is wearing at least two rings today.

At least 1. Or at least an advancement in the playoffs to the Championship game.

We have to have almost a perfect roster to win with Garrett and his scheme.

I agree. You pay the man #1 money and use him as if hes JAG. Just don't understand that, we see other teams move there star around to get mis matches and favorable situations. Not us. Cant find fault in the tweet at all. Its true.

Calvin
Antonio
Jordy
Desean

All of these guys get moved around the entire game so they can make plays, yet here we are with another year of the Cowboys acting as if Dez is unable to make plays at any spot on the field. I still don't understand why they don't use him in the slot more often, that's where a lot of these playmaking receivers make plays since it's hard to jam them.

I'm coming around on the JG "sucks" thing. He has leadership skills, but he cannot adapt. The Cowboys seemingly lose every second half, which tells me they are poor at adjustments.

Garrett is the guy you want to give the inspirational speech to your team, but not the guy you want to actually coach the game. i think it's clear Romo is the OC on this team.

I like the sarcasm but my only hope with Romo is that he will be able to score more points than the opposition can. He probably takes us to the end zone rather than a FG with three minutes to go etc

However, the rest is right, unless the D steps up, we are beyond hope.

My problem is that the coach is supposed to design a game plan to get around injuries etc. Garrett doesn't adapt.

I will say this and it won't win over a lot of people but Dez Bryant is not Julio Jones. Julio gets wide open against man coverage. Dez struggles to get separation. Now yes, you could scheme up some stuff here and there but the fact is he doesn't separate as well as other wideouts. Having said that the guy is a ******* stud who is also open when covered. Our biggest flaw is not allowing Dez to go up and get the ball deep 4-5 times a game. you gotta throw it up to him and let his god given talent go get the ball.

I hope your right. Fans said the same thing about DeZ. Takes time to get into football shape an get that timing back. Romo is awesome an can't wait for his return but there are a lot of good teams left on the schedule. Not gonna be easy

I think you missed the sarcasm in his post.

And these offensive coaches that were all here in 2014 should all be canned. 411 yards of offense and 27 points are just not enough to win. They should have forced the ball to Dez last night for 60 minutes instead of throwing to a wide open Cole Beasley and getting 8 catches and 2 tds, interceptions be damned!

They should hire the next HC and OC from this forum. If Jerry's smart, that's would he should do.

Got it, you like our offensive scheme garrett316.

Too little too late, it'll be another 6-10 or 8-8 season. At least we'll finally get to watch some actual football though in 2 weeks.

Were you watching the game? Dez got OPEN basically every time they singled him up which wasn't often. Why? Because he's the best reciever in the league and he single handily took over that game last season and absolutely torched the Eagles secondary. Even when he's clearly not 100 percent Dez broke free a number of times.
