Scoreboard doesn't lie bro................you are what your record says you are and Garrett has 1 winning season in his entire head coaching career.

That is not a good head coach, virtually anybody can put up 1 winning season.............And I am going to keep saying that nobody who knows anything thinks actual records don't matter.

Scoreboard doesn't lie, and the HC has to be responsible for the performance of his team. But there are lots of different reasons why a team can lose multiple games like we have, and not all of them are necessarily related to caching. You can keep saying it, it doesn't change the fact.

There are a lot of good coaches who have had losing seasons.

Off topic be worth noting. Peyton Manning sets the record and makes nfl history. Throws 4 picks and gets bennched. That with all these upsets makes this the Weirdest day in football I can ever remember!!!

The list of coaches that have had only one winning season in his first 5 years isn't very long either. This isn't about one losing season. Garrett has only had one good season in 5 (assuming this one continues to trend as it has).

***Stop complaining publicly about closing new thread formation*** This is questioning moderation and takes us away from making the site more readable and enjoyable.

This happens after many games so it's nothing new. I'll explain it very simply so I don't have to go back and delete a lot of threads or worse. The moderators cannot do their jobs well at times if the traffic is too high. Hence stopping new thread formation for a period of time. It is done reluctantly and turned back on as soon as we can. We understand how important it is to members to be able to post and create threads.

If you want to discuss this then do so with a PM to a moderator or Admin and give us time to get to your concerns.

Y'all can keep blaming plays, players, calls, no calls, refs, etc. The bottom line is this team had no desire today . They were not ready to play period. Just like the coaches silenced them in the media, he silenced them at the game today. If in didn't know better I'd say they quit on JG. He doesn't have there back, and they might not have his anymore. JG will never be more than a coach in training. He's gutless. Heartless. Clueless. Has no fire. Lacks any type of football Common sense. He's a typical smart guy. Has the brain to know what could be done, but doesn't have the cred, and balls I make it happen. He's done absolutely nothing on his tenure at Dallas. He's as bad of coach as we've ever had. Most of you put on your Star glasses after last year, but he had nothing to do with it . He ran DM and stuck with it . Big whoopty do. He's a pathetic excuse for a football coach and I wish he could be erased from Cowbiys history. He ruined this team inside and out. His clapping is ridiculous. Him being the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys shows us how much JJ really wants to win. JJ cares about your dollars and that's it. Until JJ and JG are gone, this sorry excuse of a professional sports franchise will be considered the laughing stock of the NFL.

This is the worst part of it. Seriously, what the hell is the team going to do when Romo retires? Lose until another top quality QB falls into their lap?

Not much different that most teams do; lose a lot until they find a good or better QB.

agreed. he ran DM to death and it worked. plus he had
coach/player Romo to hide all the flaws and make his magic. this season garrett has had neither and has been exposed

The list of coaches that have had only one winning season in his first 5 years isn't very long either. This isn't about one losing season. Garrett has only had one good season in 5 (assuming this one continues to trend as it has).

I could say that the list of coaches who've had no losing seasons in 5 years is short, as well. He was 5-3 in 2010, for the record.

Put it this way...hypothetically, if we had Tony Romo in the games all this time, and played the same games with the same play calls....the only difference being that it's Romo making the adjustments at the line and making the throws. And, for argument's sake, let's say we make that extra play or two in each of these games and win the 5 of them that were in serious contention, putting us at 7-2 and not 2-7....would that mean that Jason Garrett is then a good coach and not a bad one, after all?

I'd submit that it wouldn't. That the won/loss equation in the NFL is complicated, and you have to look specifically at all aspects of the wins and the losses to see who's doing a good job, who is not, and who's got significant room for improvement. If I were seeing bad coaching or bad play calling contributing to losing games, I'd put it on Garrett and the coordinators. But that's not what I'm seeing. So I put the issue on personnel, instead, because that's where I'm seeing the biggest limitations right now.
