Strange that he's at OLB in a 3-4. He's listed at 6-6/290. Must be a major liability vs the run at 5 tech.

That 7.8 is for 2016, and isn't fully guaranteed until the beginning of the next season. So some team might. I guess it may matter if it has to be paid if he gets hurt this year. I'm not sure if the injury guarantee includes 2015 injuries or just 2016.

The Jets picked up Coples’ option f0r 2016 and it is worth $7.751 million. The option is guaranteed for injury and will be fully guaranteed on the first day of the 2016 League Year.

I remember him from his days at UNC....a Butch Davis recruit. Gifted athlete but dumber than a bag of rocks and lazy to boot. We do not need him.

He just got cut by the Jets, I don't know what our waiver position is but with the need at 3 Tech, at 6'6 290, he seems like he has enough to at least take a flier on him and see what he has.

I think he could rotate with either Hayden or Crawford and help keep them fresh. I like what Irving has done too but you cant discount a talent like QC....any thoughts?

That's a surprising cut, but I have to think (cue Spagnola voice) that there's a good reason they cut him and it's just possible he's not as talented as we thought.

Here's a link with Todd Bowles explanation that says he'd be better on the line than as an OLB, but I'm not sure I buy it. I think something else is going on there.

And do we really need a 3 tech? You have Crawford there and Irving, right? Neither are great but it would seem to me that we need a guy who can play the 1 Tech more than the 3 Tech.

the jets moved him to olb i a 3-4 which us just umb dumb dumb, he actually played ok before that positional move.
