I do agree that he looks soft sometimes...all while tearing up the league.
But this past offseason they said he worked out nearly every single day with a very regimented schedule and trainer.

Ok I'll take your word for it

I'm over there everyday too (is on my rotation) and honestly I've never "plenty" of articles on Romo's off season sports activities since the back issue. I think you used that as a throwaway line and it came back to bite you.

No worries though - it was a good post.

Other than taking up indoor soccer last off season, Romo hasn't played much golf. There was even an article about him not playing his own hometown tournament anymore, because of his back.

That is not the point, it isn't always black and white.
Give a player, as in any person who works at any job, a semblance of job steady job security, they will perform better, think better, try to be better.
A 2 or 3 year deal with incentives would be good in this case. Key word "incentives" or did you choose to ignore that part.

You think that is enough? Care to remember what happened last time he signed a long term deal? If being out of the league isn't incentive enough nothing will be. He is and likely always will be a knucklehead. I'll take my chances on somebody else unless he signs for one year again. Welcome to your opinion but I'll happily disagree.

I want to see how TWill responds in training camp next year to some competition. Butler should provide that. I'd also like to see an upgrade over Street. I haven't seen anything special from him.

Well, I don't want to cut Williams, but I'm greedy and want to have a one-two punch at receiver that scares teams, especially since we aren't creative in how we use our receivers. The best way to take extra attention off Dez is by having someone on the other side who also can eat up the defense.

I know that's not easy to have with so many other needs, but that's the dream. I was impressed that Butler was able to take advantage of the coverage that he got, so he definitely might be the best hope that we have of someone who can be a consistent threat. Maybe not quite the 1-2 punch we would like, but at least a step up from where we are if Williams can't elevate his game, which I'm starting to think he can't.

Moore looked awful in a loss. It could have been worse -- he could have looked awful in a win.

Always respect your opinion. I don't think he looks bad but he doesn't look great. He does a lot with what he has been given. He's a short, slow, cerebral QB with a long delivery. He does pull the trigger quickly which offsets his long delivery some but it will always be a slight negative.

He's a very limited QB who does not remind me of Montana who was also limited some. He doesn't even remind me of Doug Flutie who was even shorter but had a bigger arm. He's the type of guy you have around to let someone like Showers rub shoulders with and learn to learn and work hard; and you let him go as soon as you have someone with more promise.

The fact he 'could' be a backup says more about the state of affairs of backup QB in this league than his ceiling.

I'd like to see Showers or another running QB learn to play the game here.

Ro is looking for a big payday and it is obvious he doesn't like working at his job well enough. I'd offer him a two year deal with incentives for the first year and have an out for snaps for both years. If he doesn't want to work at being a football player then someone one else can take the chance or he can work in another career.

There was nothing around him. The receivers gave him little chance and the running game was suspect at best.

They had over 100 rushing yards. Your shtick is getting old and ridiculous at this point

They couldve just let it heal properly. He took the minimal amount of time to come back. That bone wasnt healed 100%.

That is very true
But at the time we still had a shot at the playoffs so my assumption is they thought it was worth the risk, and obviously they were wrong

Many good points and pretty spot on. I think RoMac needs to stay though. Maybe a 3 year deal gets him in the right mind set to be in shape with the right incentives.
I think Hanna is another FA that they may target to stay with the injury to Escobar.

If a one year deal doesn't motivate him, why would the security of a longer deal do it ?!

If you had to sign contracts for your job, would you want a one year deal, or a three year deal? Yes it is a different dynamic in the NFL. but it is still basic human nature to feel you have a place to stay in for a while.

Dallas will be drafting 4th unless they win. I dont see either of the top 3 teams winning their last game.

Tonight was frustrating to watch another loss in the final quarter, i like what i saw out of guys who this team can depend on in 2016.

Starting with Demarcus Lawrence, IDK what got into him the last 7 weeks but the guy just cant be blocked anymore. Atleast not one on one. if he can add another 5-7lbs this offseason he will be a beast next yr.

Brice Butler, if this kid gets early work with Romo in the offseason and can develop some chemistry with him, if they can get Romo to dedicate some offseason to training instead of golf and pickup backetball they could have something real nice opposite Dez. Butler does something that Williams cant and thats create seperation off the snap. Think McClay found another sleeper here.

Terrance MItchell, the guy again played a solid game in the slot.Think this is the #3 guy at CB in 2016. And Olayote plays a very nice man cover game. He needs to work on his zone and off man as he allowed catches in this area. But these two seem like they might have filled some depth for the Boys. But i still think Dallas needs a starter at CB opposite Scandrick in 2016.

Casey Walker is a big man in the middle. He played real nice holding up. Even had two tackles and forced Taylor out of the pocket a couple times. We all know Dallas isnt going to spend or draft high at the 1 tech so i think Walker might end up being a replacement for Hayden if he's not back. Still Dallas does need more at DT.

Kellen Moore, will not be back next yr. The guy will probably make a nice QB coach in 4-5 yrs for a college team and make his way back into the NFL. He's really smart and it shows, but the guy just doesnt have the arm. That ugly release along with his noodle arm make him a scrub.

I like what Dallas has in McFadden and Turbin, but i dont think both will be back. Since mcFadden already has a deal for 2016 he will be back and Turbin wont. I see Dallas taking a RB high. Im hoping either a trade back for Elliot, or Paul Perkins in Rd2.

Dallas has 3 FAs who wont be going anywhere: Ron Leary, Jeff Heath(RFA) Casey Walker (ERFA)
But if a team were to offer a trade as in a pick for Leary snatch that up. Or give him that RD2 tender and see if a team bites. But most likely he is in Dallas in 2016.

Dallas has 14 UFAs and i can only see 2 that have a high chance of being back if that. Hardy and McClain. And i wouldnt be mad if neither is back. Hardy should but i wouldnt want this team spending what its going to take to bring him back and stop the development of Gregory. Because if Hardy is back, Gregory will never get a big number of snaps. McClain i just dont think he's worth the trouble of waiting for half a season for this lazy guy to get in football shape. The rest i can see gone.

Doug Free had a real nice game today. This is what you will get from him going forward. Some bad games then sneaks in a very good game like tonight.

Still cant express this enough on how much i think Dooley and Henderson need to be far away from this team.

Romo hasn't played golf in about 3 years. That complaint is VERY OLD.
Guess you could be mad he ATTENDED basketball games.

Why would DMC or Turbin be gone? We'll likely bring both back. Could see them and a re-signed Dunbar back even if we do draft a rookie. Gettign everyone through camp and pre-season healthy at RB is a miracle.

Moore is very likely back. He may be knocked down to 3rd QB but his price is right and it seems very unlikely Dallas acquires 2 QBs this off-season. I guess we could see Showers promoted above him but that seems a long shot.

Agree with most other points.

Ro is a big, physical dude who struggles to stay healthy and always will. But he played through a concussion where most, even Sean Lee, do not.
Tough to doubt his desire.
He certainly doesn't appear to love running so that is fair but injury played a part in his slow crawl to being in shape.

I'd pay him for his performance weighing good and bad but there is a price for him to be back at.

I hope they go after a receiving tight end, and use Witten for blocking.

This.

Witten was never a threat to break tackles and gain YAC but he can still block and he can still get open. Of course Escobar could have been that player if they incorporated him into the offense.

People just want to live in the past...ask Troy Aikman........
Yes people will bring up old stuff over and over. I still hear....I was a fan until Jerry fired Landry....but yet they were cheering in the 90's from the SB wins...but now back to that same saying....or they say, I liked them with Jimmy...
I ask which is it, you were a fan with Tom or Jimmy, but not now.....????...they walk away or change the subject.
