Yes we had their records in our house as well, i think most people did in those days.

Very talented and an excellent businessman to boot.

Serious childhood memories.

Very accomplished musician. i only know him through the hits he made with Janet Jackson back in the '80s.

Herb Alpert... one of the great talents who isn't mentioned much anymore.

His song "Lonely Bull" has always connected with me.

and The Tijuana Brass . Enjoyed them since their heydays of the late 60's - 70's. My folks had 3 - 4 of their LP's I used to dance around the living room to in my skivvies and make my mama lol. Lord, I miss those days!

When I hear the name Herb Alpert, I always think of The Dating Game.

Back in the 60's, I'd bet a lot of guys got 'lucky' from having having those Tijuana Brass and Sergio Mendes LPs back at the apartment.

Just an update on this thread...

In 1966 Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass sold more records than the Beattles.

Herb Alpert is the only recording artist to have 4 albums in the top-10 simultaneously.

He co-founded A&M Records and discovered Richard and Karen Carpenter.

He sold A&M Records in 1989 for $500 million.
