There's no doubt about that. The guy is a pain in the @$$, just like he was before we signed him in the first place. But despite the stench surrounding him, we were still willing to get into bed with him then, weren't we? It's ridiculous for this team or its' fans to try to jump on some moral high horse now.

I don't know about a moral high horse. I can see some fans flip flopping on that issue. I wasn't really against us giving Hardy a chance last year. I haven't changed MY stance on that for morality reasons. LOL. But I will say he can't be calling out or undermining his coach. That type of locker room cancer ruins an entire team.

People can say what they want about Garrett being a puss, but it seems like in this case that Garrett doesn't want Hardy or the Jones boys would be negotiating for him right now. As a side note, Hardy sitting by the phone now with no suitors might just bring him down a notch or two and make him slightly more manageable for his next team, even if it turns out to be the Cowboys, for a short period of time. However people with personality disorders never really change. Once those guys are cancers, they really never stop being cancers ..... but sometimes they can be managed for a short period of time.

Yea.

-Letting our best DL walk
-Taking a passive approach to Free Agency and looking for instant impact in the draft
-Whiffing on multiple free agents
-Passing up a potential Franchise QB for a CB or DE

It literally gets no worse than that

No, it could be a lot worse......we could be in Philly.

I totally agree, and if there was any proof that he did that, I'd want no part of him either. But thus far, all i see are rumors and innuendo.

That's what I think too. Guys like Haley and LT were high-maintenance nutjobs to, a means to an end. And strong coaches were able to coexist and handle them. Sometimes a team and coach doesn't have to like a guy, they just have to deal with them. And considering the position this team is in, I feel that they need to do that with a guy like Hardy.

They've already taken the PR hit, they may as well get to reap some of the benefits for it. Given the situations with Gregory and Lawrence, defensive end is a serious need.

They need to commit to one or the other. Either we are rebuilding or we are going for a Super Bowl now. Half committed to either way is a disservice to both. I can live with either just tell me what I'm looking at.

By what they've done and haven't done in free agency, they've already given their answer there.

Just don't follow up preaching 'responsibility' there and look for 'quick fix' in the draft. You do that and you're a moron who deserves it when things blow up in your face.

I'm just acknowledging all is not going to plan. They wanted players. They couldn't get them. Now they are bringing in backup options. We know they were in on Forte, now they look to Morris. We know Robinson isn't their first choice, they had Carroll and Hall in first. Chris Long was scheduled and bailed ,so now we're waiting for the league to return our call on Benson Mayowa.

They had a plan to start FA and they haven't been able to execute it. Of course you'll mention price, but again...that's handbook stuff. All negotiations come down to price. The point is they failed to get the players they targeted. They whiffed. Other than Thornton.

Heck, here's an article from David Moore literally titled a whiff on Long....

Right, they had a plan to make reasonable offers, based on their evaluation of the assets in question.
All they did was drop out of the bidding. We can all disagree about the prospective worth of any player, but it's not our money, and there are budgetary constraints.

Exactly.

To me a "Whiff" is selecting a guy and not having him pan out... be it a free agent or a draft pick.

But to not go beyond your preset limit of what you're going to spend isn't that.

Attention all: We are doing what we want in free agency. All is well. Return to your designated areas.

You mean Chandler Jones? The guy with the bizarre synthetic marijuana incident? The guy in the league drug program and one blunt away from a suspension? Yeah, that is a guy we should be targetting and giving away draft picks and players for. Might as well just keep Hardy.

Is it known that Jones is in the league drug program? Synthetic marijuana is not on the list of banned items, to my knowledge.

Many of the articles about the trade at least suggested that as a reason the Pats would let him go.

Their reasoning could be that it's not something that they want to associate with, not necessarily that he's in the drug program. The only way that we as fans find out is when a player is either fined or suspended, and that would be for at least three offenses.

Plenty of people didn't want the team to sign Hardy in the first place.

I don't know what's so odd at being for the Hardy signing last year and for moving on this year. It was a roll of the dice that he'd start acting right after going through what he did and having his reputation and market value damaged. He didn't do that. His conduct caused the Cowboys to consider him untouchable. As the Panthers did before them.

So why would I have the same opinion now as I did then? He had a second chance and he screwed that up too. His third chance can and should be elsewhere.
