This offseason has been very interesting from the standpoint that the Cowboys generally have not been a team that signs players from other NFC East teams. This year, they have signed two of them.

Morris does fit the run scheme well. He does bring literally nothing to the passing game, but I think he can be productive in the run game. Hope the numbers on his deal reflect the apparent lack of league wide interest in his services.

My guess is that any interest for Elliott just lessened. That leaves Henry, Prosise, and that kid from FSU as the only viable options at RB, at least for me.
Don't forget about the kid from Utah Devonte Booker is also an option for the team.

I don't know if I am the first to say this or not...

I hope us signing one of the Skins former players works out better for us than the players that we have had and went on to play with the Commanders.

Big difference is that they always gave big money to sign our players away. Morris is getting a modest contract with very little risk to the Cowboys and isn't expected to be a full time starter. He doesn't have to do very much to earn his contract and with the incentive pay, he may be very motivated to excel.

Not a sexy signing but I can live with it. You can still take a TB in the mid rounds for developmental purposes - Dixon, maybe Booker, Prosise.

People are now saying that this means no Elliott at 4 but you should have known Elliott was probably a longshot at 4 well before we signed Morris.

cant see why this is a bad thing. People can say what they want about the O-Lines "struggles" but they produced a 1,000 yard back for a guy nobody thought could play football anymore.
Exactly and with Morris you get a guy who is an even better fit than McFadden in the ZBS the Cowboys run and count me in as one of these fans who think that they will address the RB position in the draft because I can't and definitely know the team can't trust McFadden, nor Dunbar to stay healthy for an entire season.

Without knowing the full details of the deal, it is a nice contract for the FO. I do not know why they rushed to sign Dunbar last week especially with all the rehab he has in front of him. Morris has always been a solid player who just is not spectacular. Solid Player win games.

This tells me that there won't be a RB picked at 4 and 34.

I'm thinking the same thing. I personally think Defense at #4 and Defense at #34. No in saying this it would not
shock me if at #4 all the smokescreen turns out being Jared Goff !!

I know that this might not be popular because it may mean no Zeke but fellas next years RBs coming out that will be in the draft will be epic. With DMC and Dunbar in their final years it sets us up to be looking for a RB in 17 draft........... as long as the Eagles or Giants don't pick Zeke
It won't surprise me if the Eagles, or Giants select Elliott if he falls to either team at their pick with this Morris signing it's telling us that either the Cowboys will address S, LB, QB, or DE with the 4th overall pick we'll see.
