I thought the "Daryl cliffhanger" was poor.
I don't think that was any kind of cliffhanger. You could clearly see the gun was pointed at his shoulder area as Darryl was turning around. Then Dwight immediately said "You'll be all right". The shock was Darryl getting shot at all, not that he might be dead. He clearly isn't.

Darryl's not dead. He was clearly shot in the shoulder area while turning around, and you can hear Dwight saying "you'll be all right" as the camera goes to black.

Darryl is much too important a character to go out like that. If/when he is killed, it will be by somebody like Negan. Not some two bit roaming savior. And it will be done in full view of the audience to take advantage of the shock value. Not some jump scare like last night.

And I question anyone killing off Daryl personally... The show will lose viewership.

Could they kill him off? You bet. Just doubt they will.

I don't agree with that. This program is centered around shocking events, after all. And what would be more shocking than to witness popular characters meeting the Turk. (or Lucille :) ) Think: Herschel. IMO, the only two characters that are untouchable are Rick and Carl. Then towards the end of the run of TWD, even Carl will be in danger. This is Rick's story.

I believe Daryl is alive. They did it that way to make people think that he might not be.

But like someone mentioned already when they kill him it will be for the whole audience to see and it won't be questioned. They'll want that heart wrenching moment.

Which I believe, quite honestly, is why you're going to get it next week. I fully believe he's going to be the one that Negan kills.

Although I'm starting to wonder if it will now be a woman because of all this talk about it being a hard left turn. That would be a huge removal from the comic because Negan in the comic would never pick a woman for a brutal killing like this.

That said I do think it's Daryl. It's not going to be Glenn at this point because it seemed pretty obvious Maggie isn't going to be there and part of the reason to kill Glenn would be for it to happen in front of Maggie. That's just my thought on it now but I feel pretty certain that Glenn will not be the one for Negan to kill.

I think you'll find out very early next week Daryl is alive which will leave his fan base thinking he's safe now cause they already teased his death and then they will kill him off. Either way I can not wait for this episode. It's going to be great.

Just like all the other seasons, but different people?

Negan is nothing like anything Rick has dealt with to this point. It's not even close. He's the worst kind of person to have to deal with because of how far he's willing to go in order to make Rick bend to his will.

It's a very interesting dynamic between the two characters.

Might be worse than SoA killing off Opie.

Certainly a lot of ladies watch because of Daryl. I don't think the character progressed much after season 3. I still chuckle over "Super Daryl" using the zombie-on-a-stick as a bullet proof vest and jumping up, dropping the grenade down the barrel of the tank in the Governor's final attack on the prison during season 4.

So.....he'll be worse than the people eating humans?
The Terminus community was an isolated, centralized threat until they decided to go on a batcrazy revenge crusade. If I understand what people have been saying about him, Negan is a brutal mortal threat to everyone living in a large region of the state (Virginia..?) or states plural. The Saviors are organized like a guerilla army, taking and killing everything and everyone within their territory and terrorizing anyone remaining into submissive cooperation. The cannibals basically ate dinner whenever prey unexpectedly stumbled into their trap.

Whose's worse? My money's on Negan.

Yes.

Far worse.

Because the people eating humans were stupid. They weren't calculating. They weren't really intimidating.

They were creepy. They were sick. But they were stupid.

Negan is not stupid.

He's calculating. He's cruel. He's brutal.

Wrapped inside a hilarious and charming person who makes you not be able to wait for him to be killed and at the same time you really hope he just doesn't get killed because the character is so good and fascinating.

The things he'll threaten, and will carry out if people don't get in line, and the things he does even to his own people who don't follow he rules is just incredible. He's the worst person, and threat, the group has faced to this point.

I am certain you will. It's too important and big a moment for them to leave you hanging. It sets the perfect tone for the Negan character.

You will know who he kills because you're going to see it happening and how brutal it is.

Exactly.

Organized. Brutal. His group is by far the largest group that Rick's has yet to encounter as well. They are many. Which is part of how Rick and his people have underestimated Negan to this point (Just like in the comic) because they're not aware of how large a group Negan commands. They were mislead by Gregory by him omitting the fact that Negan isn't the leader of some small disorganized little band of morons.

What will be interesting is how the TV Negan differs in character from the graphic novel version. For "The Governor" we had big differences between the two.

To be honest the idea that killing Opie cost them fans is vastly over-rated. Did people hate it? You bet your life they did. Opie was my second favorite character. But by and large no one quit watching because of it. They stuck around to see what Jax would do in retaliation for it. And we were rewarded with great stuff from Jax in his violent rampage.

People will be pissed if it's Daryl but they'll stick around to find out how Rick eventually handles the Negan situation.

Oh boy did we. The TV show Governor was a wuss compared to the comic guy who was a violent, evil, terrible person right from the start.

My biggest concern with Negan is how closely they will be able to keep him to the comic because he's so foul mouthed and so over the top with his sexual comments and his brutality that I'm afraid the TV show will have to water him down to much.

From what I've read though they've been given the green light to keep him very close to the comic version which if that happens will make for absolutely amazing TV episodes, IMO. He will quickly become one of the most iconic bad guys ever.

From what I have seen online, Norman was seen filming for next season so he isn't getting killed. The rumor mill is saying Negan kills Rick.

Yeah... I don't see that happening, not even for a second.
