Take the records of Jason Garrett's team and place them up next to the record starting out with Tom Landry...WITHOUT attempting to cherry pick excuses to explain the results away...

Tom Landry: 0-11-1; 4-9-1; 5-8-1; 4-10; 5-8-1; 7-7

Jason Garrett: 5-3; 8-8; 8-8; 12-4; 4-12

That is what it is. Period.

Damn Landry was sorry towards the end. Good thing we fired him, he was getting old. Good move Jerry! Dang Jason's record isn't too good either.

As to the sky is falling, that is a generalized stereotype...and not facts. Every player in the NFL gets hurt to some degree, each and every year. No, the Cowboys aren't marshmellows, despite experience Trai;ning Camps with Wade Phillips.

Depth at defensive line alone, is, for the bajilionth time:

Tyrone Crawford 26
Randy Gregory 23
Demarcus Lawrence 23
Benson Mayowa 24
Ryan Russell 24
Cedric Thornton 27
David Irving 22

Add a defensive end and defensive tackle during the draft, and that pretty well sets the DL group. Say a Bosa/Buckner at defensive end and say a Day/Billings at defensive tackle in the 2nd round.

But who it is that is settled upon by Dallas, will fit into that very group above, and make it faster and strong...and what should be all healthy as well.

Depth at wide receiver
Dez Bryant
Terrance Williams
Cole Beasley
Devin Street
Brice Butler
Vince Mayle
Lucky Whitehead

I agree, and I am looking for a WR at the top of the second round, myself.

Hell of a thing to say considering that the choice to compare Jason to Landry is likely the most shameless variety of cherry picking imaginable.

Out of all the coaches possible, just happenstance that it's an all-time great who coached for Dallas and had poor records to start his career. Not one of the bums who started poorly and finished that way. Nope, going straight to Landry.

For the record, choosing Landry is cherry picking. Explaining why the comparison doesn't mean anything is context.

Tom Landry: 0-11-1; 4-9-1; 5-8-1; 4-10; 5-8-1; 7-7

Jason Garrett: 5-3; 8-8; 8-8; 12-4; 4-12

That is what it is. Period.

Which is.....nothing.

you cant compare these 2 starts lol.
Landry started with nothing, JG had a team that was a playoff team the year before and Romo back in 2011, along with witten
and a pretty good team.
Landry had to build solely thru the draft which back then took years. so far JG is a .500 coach 1-1 in playoffs too.

C'mon, always cherry picking to put down the present team.

No, Jason Garrett's record, including playoffs, is 42-32.

To his credit, Garrett has a 12 win season in just over four seasons.

One just can't play both ends against the middle, and trash both Jerry and coaches as well. Either take a whole picture, or move on without proving beyond rooting against.

In Garrett's second full season as head coach, the team produced the club’s third-best all-time total net yardage figure to date by racking up 5,994 yards.

In his first full year as head coach, Garrett guided the 2011 team to an 8-8 finish as the offense amassed 6,008 yards for the second-highest yardage output in franchise history.

When Jason took over a 1-7 team, mid season... he went on to guide a Dallas team to a 5-3 mark down the stretch. In the season’s second half, three of the Cowboys five victories were against teams that posted 10 regular season wins, while the three Dallas defeats were decided by a combined total of seven points.

Under Garrett’s tutelage, 13 different offensive players have earned 30 total trips to the Pro Bowl.

Now, carry the name tossing and missed comparisons on down the road. As yea, Jason had to completely rebuild a team and start off with a cap deficit, that no, Tom Landry didn't have as well.

Did Mickey write this!?

Clearly this person is delusional if they think we have done well in free agency. No pass rush help, no back up QB and nothing at DB...yes, well done Cowboys.

The needs of the team are at least stable, and no large debt was included....yea, stupid as hell.

A team that went 4 and 12 cant afford to be stable...If we are not improving what is the point?

this is a average team with average talent average coaches and average front office and the total record over the last six years and twenty years reflects as much.

I guess 12-4 was a fluke.
I guess up until Romo got hurt, they had not lost a road game since 2013 is a bigger fluke.
I guess.
